For Pathaan, local ones made a profit...they wrote it to SRK thanking him for that (although they should have written to YRF 😆).

There had been some closed because of the pandemic...they opened because of SRK's movie...just for that ...and weren't disappointed...

Why would you laugh at someone's misery?

What I really wanted from you was to find another big budget Hindi film that has sold its Indian theatrical rights pre-release in the past few years, but don't think that will be possible for you.

So instead, why don't you just call up your buddy SRK & find out, for us Peasants, why he would do such a thing? 😆

If you feel misery, I won't laugh at that...certainly not...but somehow I doubt that you would feel "misery" about anything that concerns SRK 😉 (I don't think about SRK as a "buddy" to me 😆...and I guess, he doesn't, neither...although...should ask him ...)

I did question my parents if I was adopted when they took me to watch Devdas with them. Nobody should be put through that torture. But other than that you're right, I would not feel misery for SRK or any other actor for that matter. I was talking about the frustrating fly, who has now crossed the rainbow bridge. RIP!

It's never considered a good sign in the distributor circle if the makers sell Indian theatrical rights pre-release. While it's quite common for the Overseas Theatrical rights, it's very rare for the makers of big films to do this for Indian rights post 2000. Shows no conviction in their own product. Now it could just be risk management by Red Chillies by hedging their huge investment but it doesn't change the narrative.

Well if the distributors are willing to pay so much to gain the rights because of the huge hype around the movie, then why would the producers not sell them? It's just good business sense I believe.

I still get the feeling that it has become fashionable to bash Pathaan...none of those doing it here in the forum could tell me what exactly made the movie like what they call it (except for citing the scating scene - which tells me that they aren't familar with action movies)... some didn't even watch it (baring reportedly 5-10 min which is telling already).

I enjoyed it...it was fun...with some things not really part of general action movies because of very Indian/SRK-actuality. Honestly, those generic comments, I just shrug them off...they have no depth (if ever personal experience).

It's okay, negativity is just a part of the parcel 😊

God forbid we don’t like the masterpiece that is Pathaan, we all must be SRK haters. Fml fans and their star/movie worship, always makes me cringe. If we hated SRK that much, we wouldn’t have paid money for a cinema ticket and put money in his pocket/contributed to the Box Office numbers if we wanted to bash Pathaan for the banter. Apparently we need to write 5 page reviews in order for our criticism to be acceptable for certain SRK fans.
