You know what, I logged out on 27 th July night thinking that I won't come here for 6 months but you see I couldn't control logging in for even one day, I logged in today looking at Minty's Pathaan post and Atominis desi post 🤣, this forum is too addictive/instigating to ignore lmao. Probably will get cancelled for this, as I'm probably guilty of generalising but on this forum and in my actual life, noticed a certain group who think they're superior than other regional groups in India. Several comments by Mrs Ackles and DheeJattanDi putting down anyone from other than their region also come to mind here.

In any case the boom for kpop and Korea will go down as soon as BTS goes to military service, Blackpink retires..(I hope they sign the contract this week).. and Twice disband ..these 3 bands are the ones that have made the Kpop Global. NewJeans, Gidle, Ateez, TXT... they don't have the fame or the power that the third generation got.

NewJeans is about to be bigger in the west than Blackpink. Fifty Fifty's Cupid is shaping to be a bigger hit in the States than BTS ever did. I don't think any group will be as big as BTS, because of competition, but the Kpop genie is out of the bottle. It's not going back in.

Going back to my first post. It's not as big as the OP is making it out to be. It's a niche sub culture. BTS is the only K Pop artist/group you'll find on any Spotify Lists. And even then they're nowhere as popular as "Bad Bunny"(Peurto Rico). An average person does not know who any of the other K Pop groups are. The older you are, the more truth this statement holds. It's only their "Fans" who are so notorious & so well organized....that bring them attention. Sorta like SSR fans in India. But it doesn't mean anybody other than BTS is mainstream in anyways.

Speaking of Bad Bunny....I think after him, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, Marc Anthony....we should be talking about Puerto Rican music instead of Korean.

And as far as Skin Care goes....it's just a bunch of delusional women who think that the Koreans have discovered the fountain of youth & they must uncover the secret to this poreless skin. They don't understand how Dark the Korean society is when it comes to this "Natural Glow" & the plastic surgeries/skin whitening/makeup involved. Again a very tiny minority, just very vocal with a SM(Especially Tik Tok) presence.

You're forgetting the Kdramas. People are waiting for Squid Game 2 in west, that's going to be a big thing in 2024. They love any bland Kdramas.
