Abhi Hallyu wave hai to everyone is riding it. This too shall pass. If lockdown didnt happen and I didnt run out of content, I would have never started watching Kdramas. I still dont actively follow Kpop idols.

From binging shows one after the other, now I have come down to only 2 shows in 6-8 months.

Things will settle once people get bored. But they sure know how to market themselves. The whole cuteness, height, good looks, "good manners," fan service is all new to India especially, so people are falling for it (I find their fan culture toxic, the artist is literally public property and they go around apologizing for dating/getting married.). It has already reached its peak I feel, now for the gradual fall.

Credit where due:

Their shows are extremely well made, most have good plotlines, while the run of the mill ones have extremely good looking leads who have fab chemistry. And most of their actors can act and romance effortlessly onscreen.

I dare Korea to make some soulful song like this and they can't. I love my Indian content.

Talking only about the popularity in India: We also have a bunch of Indian/Paki YouTubers (settled in Korea/married to Korean guys/girls) who are famous these days. Even I sometimes watch their vlogs😆

So yaha ke logo ko lagta hai unko aise hi sadak pe ek Korean Oppa ya Noona mil jayegi and unka personal Kdrama shuru ho jayega. They are in love with "the idea" of S Korea and Korean people which is totally manufactured and has been popularized via their shows.

Kuch Korean idols/actors ke views on women ya unke racist remarks sunoge toh palat ke shakal nahi dekhoge.

Upar se unke beauty standards alag problematic hai. Saare faint hote phirte hai coz they live on minimal food. They just dont eat man.

A magazine gave Jimin’s pic for S Korea and SRK’s recent pic for India. The topic was: Male beauty standards country wise. Hope that answers the question 😆

The problem with Bollywood movies and music is all the monopoly and politics. The content has truly gone down hill. Every other person has their own little music video with generic song.

These nepo’s and mafia have ruined it all. Otherwise IMO, Bollywood has sooo much untapped potential, but y’all are busy obsessing over Rani’s and Shanaya’s, so can we do it na?

I am not sure how big is that effect cos in the West, East Asian women marry the most outside their race and asian men the least . I see more fugly Indian men with white women than Asian men.

that’s because most of those Indian men are earning well and at high paying jobs it ain’t because of looks

I have seen this over and over again Caucasian women will pick the most well settled desi men

Wow. The casual racism in this post.

Not racism, just an opinion actually. If my comment is racism then putting all Indian men down and saying they don't have the "looks" to be liked worldwide should be seen as racism too 😬

Not like that in general we look first if he is handsome and well educated we already have the money 😄 but those from the East look more at status or money happens in my Country as well, they also marry Western boys with money because in Eastern Europe in general they are not rich. In my country not many girls would marry an Indian even if he has money... unless he's like Sid or Adi ☺

Here money and caste are not important because that doesn't exist here so u can see many Western girls with men from more poor families than them easily. Beauty is important as well as his education but those who know how to cook and help u with the children or the housework are the most eligible.
