| Vishal Bhardwaj is certainly the one for original titles. His latest film which is not inspired by any Shakespearean play is titled Kaminay. Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur will star in the film. Bhardwaj, who is acclaimed for adaptations including Maqbool which is heavily inspired by Macbeth and Omkara by Othello, is all geared up to shoot Kaminay. When quizzed about the title of the movie, Bhardwaj refuses to comment but agrees to speak at length about the film when he finalises all the details. Currently, he is busy with pre-production but promises to reveal 'in good time' whether Shahid will be playing the title role. After Bhardwaj's ambitious project Julia, a film on the life of the 1940s stunt queen Nadia played by Franka Potente, did not materialise due to the budget going overboard, he has pumped all his energies into Kaminay, which is a romantic musical. Says Priyanka Chopra, "Vishal's film certainly has an interesting title. However, I cannot reveal anything about it. But just like the title, the film bends all the rules." She adds, "We will start shooting from August, right after I complete the promotion of Love Story 2050 and the dubbing of Fashion and Drona." When asked about Vishal's new film being inspired from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Priyanka chooses to keep the mystery going. "I can tell what it is not. It isn't Romeo and Juliet at all. Although Vishal's new film is more of a romantic-comedy it also has lots of action," says Priyanka. |
