Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has seen the new Netflix show Kohrra? I've been reading mostly positive reviews but the beginning is quite upsetting and the whole storyline sounds like something very close to my heart. But going by the reviews I think I will have to watch it at some point. Also Suvinder Vicky is just a phenomenal actor.

Thoughts on the show?

If you're from Punjab, it might hit home, because there's a lot about how fathers can be. It touches upon relationships within that bubble and it addresses traumas, forbidden relationships etc. It's a really well-made whodunit that's also a slowburn though, and everyone is phenomenal in their well fleshed out characters, especially Barun Sobti, Suvinder Vicky, Harleen Sethi and Varun Badola.

Even critics like Rahul Desai and Anupama loved it. KJo toh even posted on his grid about it.

I have just finished watching it. Everyone has done a fabulous job.⭐️

The Punjabi tadka was nice.

I have a question. Why did Garundi always ride a bike with a helmet hanging on his hand instead of wearing it on the head? Is there a significance?

Cheers..

I’ve heard rave reviews so far. Can’t believe Barun Sobti is out there smashing it😆

Haha that's probably because you've mostly seen him as ASR who was that kind of cold, emotionless character 😆 Bro has actually proven to be so much more than that with the kind of content he's getting (Asur, Kohrra, another show with a national award-winning director etc)

He is still nothing extraordinary, just that with acclaimed stories all actors in it get appreciated too, deserving or no.

This show's hype doesn't even seem completely organic like asur's.Are we to really believe that kjo actually watched it?or is it simply that the producer/director is involved in bollywood too and known to kjo so they must have asked him and others to hype it up?

@bold Nah that's not true. Top critics and even directors like Hansal, Sanjay, and now Karan wrote individual parts for him in their reviews. I've seen countless people from the general audience praising him too, his fans aside. Besides, if he had just been part of "all actors get appreciated" as an ensemble, why would he keep on getting so many good projects? He's not even a nepo kid, and we all know the prejudice against tv actors. Those people must have seen something in him.

About the show, I guess Netflix being involved gives more exposure. But yes, Asur topping charts for several weeks did seem more organic given that it was on a platform limited to India only.
