The announcement makes sense and I even believe that this movie had already been discussed for some time...and Aditiya would got to know it...so, yes, I can imagine that YRF would like to take Alia as third female agent (well balanced with three male and three female ones in prominent roles).

To me, Deepika, Alia and Katrina seem to be - at the moment - the most bankable and established star-actresses.

I do not believe for one second that everyone involved with Kalank was surprised it flopped. They all knew during promotions. That was probably the main reason Alia seemed so grumpy half the time. WOM is definitely key, but these days reviews don’t mean anything. Specially by all the big names of social media who review Bollywood movies. Unfortunately due to the samosa phenomenon they’ve all lost their credibility, even Taran who was someone everyone was looking forward to his one word reviews. Then there’s the issue of manipulating figures and using PR to give a flop a success tag. Something that KJo has been caught on video admitting to.

Yes there’s a lot of bias against KJo, Ranveer, and Alia. But the opposite is true as well. The last two specially have a huge following on social media that hypes everything they do. Not to mention their PRs. But how are neutrals reacting to everything RRKPK? Does the movie genuinely have the right kind of hype and buzz that a Karan Johar movie usually has ten days before its release? That too with two big name A listers?

Not predicting the outcome of the movie. It may very well become a blockbuster or a big hit. But at this point I do feel it’s getting underwhelming reaction to everything it’s released.

Kalank had alot of hype pre release, the songs were big hits, it had an exciting star cast, people love alia and varuns chemistry, people were overall very positive about the content during promotions, but it still flopped, and that's becuase the movie was not good, I was convinced the movie would do very well looking at the pre release buzz, so I was really surprised it didn't do well. So this shows that sometimes you dont know how a movie will turn out before its release. There have been some movies with very low buzz pre release but then end up being hits coz of strong wom.

Soon Bollywood would be renamed as Aliawood 🥳🥳 It's tiring to see only Alia everywhere in every project. One of the reasons why I lost interest Bollywood in the first place 🥱

Kinda surprised Alia is working with Vasan. I would have understood if it were right after Mard Ko Dard

Ranveer and alia are doing city tour promotions for the movie, they also have many more promotion things planned, if they wanted attention away from it or thought its going to flop then they wouldn't even bother doing promotions.

Alia is starting this new film in September, which is why its being announcened now.
