agree it didnt say that...but my point was it (kindness) not being wasted..by which i didnt mean it wud always give desired result..(which it may not obviously)..but somewhere in the life..the person who showed kindness towards others ...irrespective of any expectation...wud be rewarded with kindess in return..maybe later in future for such a deed. - this is what i think!😊

One example that immediatly comes to mind is that of Prithviraj Chauhan and Muhammad Ghori. Then there were the South American tribes who received the Spanish as their guest but the Spanish from the very beginning had an eye on their gold an silver. The British East India Company entered India as merchants and were given tax breaks in certain regions as a favour but went on to colonialise the whole of India. I won't go into details as you all know what happened. These are historically known cases but I'm sure we all have seen similar cases in our own or others lives also.

yes..those examples are very much true...but that hasnt stopped anyone from being kind to others? In all those examples...ppl were kind (prc, south american or the indians) coz they didnt know their intentions, which once they did...stopped being kind to them!

if somebody comes to your house...(with the intention of stealing) how would you know it?? wouldnt u be kind to them initially?

By that quote i never meant to be a fool and be kind to everybody, even ur enemies..i jus meant to be kind as much as possible..it wont do u harm!

So, IMO the character of the person on whom you are being kind decides whether your act of kindness will go to waste or not. Agar niyat mein hi khot hai toh kitna bhi kindness dikhao, kuchh nahi badalne wala.

your kindness may not always get the desired result....but will surely be rewarded later on.😊

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."

This one line quote can be taken in different ways by different people...from this quote what I understood is that if I be good to others...the same thing wud come back to me and personally I have expereinced it too...sometimes..ppl be kind to me..coz i had been the same with them earlier 😳

This is the simple logic I like to follow....coz for me even small deeds of kindness makes a big difference in my attitude...and i like to live that way!

The examples of prc, past india or south amercians may be true..(i dont know much history)...but i still think kindness gets its rewards..and by that i dont mean after 10 years or after death. i ve got my rewards even in my short span of life...so I continue to be kind unless and untill i have a reason not to be so!

But if those past examples gives you a reason not to be kind to others..thats your thinking. i personally dont agree.

The one line quote doesnt say when, where and how...it depends on the people how they like to take it!

You asked whether we agree with the quote or not and I said I don't agree as it's not always the truth. What I do or don't do doesn't come into the picture.

What the quote doesn't say is that you shouldn't always expect a favourable reward for your act of kindness, cos even though most of the times you might be rewarded, there will be times when you may not be rewarded at all and then there will be times when you might even get an adverse reaction. IMO, that's the truth, not the rosy picture that all your acts of kindness will be similarly rewarded.
