Most trauma,if not dealt with comes back to haunt you eventually and mess your life or others. Like there is something in his past, that affected his married life. That affected his wife. Something he has not dealt with.

We know he does not want a child responsibility. But shoulders all kind of responsibilities but refuses to be Leher's guardian. He hates his hometown for sometime. He was vehement that Khushi does not go back there.

So what has he done or not done in the past..that affected a child?

I agree, thinking you committed adultery, there can be guilt but at the end you accept it was your fault.

But when goes through an experience like this, there is victims guilt(which shouldn’t be the case but it’s there), you blame yourself why you were not more careful. And this feeling of utter helplessness where you can’t understand why it happened to you?

It is well documented for date rape etc. The victim is not at fault and most time they think asked for it.

A grown man..forget law..he himself will not accept that she took advantage of him.

Ps. Now that I am not thinking about the BL. all his musings. ..there are stuff about his past..which will be horrible to read.

Ps1. Wish someone started singing and dancing now..like hindi movies. This is too angsty

This is the sad reality when men are victims.

I am sure his relation with his parents and his decision to not have children has much more deeper reasons. Only when everything will unfold we can understand Arnav. But He definitely needs therapy.

And it looks like Arnav is a strong character, he is practical but he is actually a very troubled person. Khushi understood him a lot, so never pushed him much.

And khushi seems like emotionally vulnerable and fragile but she has a lot of inner strength. She may be broken now, anyone will be after dealing with so many blows but she has the strength to come out of it as well.

I have a lot of faith in her character.

More than khushi, Arnav needs her for his survival. His mother was right.

Let’s see what happens next.

It’s actually very sad.

I read the whole chapter again!!!!

I always felt that there is massive communication gap between them. Arnav even thought he will use this unfortunate incident if khushi doesn’t want divorce!!!! The very reason he thought khushi was petty enough to not understand the pain and humiliation he went through just because he thought he could let loose one night!!! If any woman was in Arnav’s place, it would be considered rape. Yes, he is culprit of khushi for shutting her out but he didn’t do infidelity . He was so much out of his senses that he was about to commit suicide !!!! Lord what depression makes you do…. I am thinking when a girl because of her own circumstances let’s loose and gets caught in similar situation, I may be thinking too much but blaming the victim is not right…. My heart broke when few women in National tv said if you roam around in city this late night you are inviting trouble, during Nirbhaya case!!!

Hey , again my thoughts!!!

It’s time for khushi to take the rein and drive the relationship…. help him come out of this pain and humiliation. I also have a lot of hope from her .

I agree one has to be careful but it doesn’t give the other person the right to take advantage of you once you have said No.

No means No.

Consent under influence of alcohol or drugs is fraudulent consent.

Tashi, you are again applying real world rules for a rave party.. These parties are like "Dum Maro Dum" parties and you don't even need rooms for doing things, everyone knows what's going on but don't stop each other and no one talks about it outside later... Car key exchange, eyes wide shut (watch this movie, shocker) and many are known styles of rave parties where openly partner exchange or group activities or ONS happen. It doesn't suit someone's morals, they shouldn't attend but if one is there and chooses to stay in such party, its clear they are OK with what happens there or with them under the inflence and its all normal, consensual in their world. There is always a short window for people to step out and save their day. Arnav had figured it was a rave party; drug fuelled smoke fests as soon as he entered but he chose to stay back, let loose for the first time.

Also high level secrets or activities may get discussed if business / politics involved and one is supposed to ignore or stay out of such areas. The punishment of being at wrong place at wrong time is very high, sometimes it even costs lives, why do you think people like Divya Bharathi or Disha Salian died suspiciously while attending such parties?

If someone is caught in such situation, unfortunately the only option they have is what Arnav did here in FanFic or Priyanka in Fashion movie, wear your clothes and walk away. They can't go to Dr to check or approach police, they have no injury to indicate it was forced and they are mature adults. And people high on alcohol, drugs can themselve invite or give in easily, it's a given.. First question anyone will ask is why did you go to a rave party knowing it's culture?

I am NOT disagreeing wrong things happen in rave parties, in fact what happens there is pretty much morally wrong but still prople do it by choice.

Sorry but this is the reality of rave parties...

ADDED - Watch Murder in Greenwich, true story happened in USA; murder of a 15 years old girl while running away from a elite teen rave party.

Also guys, because of a DM I just realized this.

Any of you want to change your endings for the ending challenge Swati issued? 😉

I have a super duper twist ending I am thinking of -

Lavanya is dead and police think it's a murder and the prime suspect is Arnav.

Now how he proves his innocence and redeems in Khushi's eyes, that would be his "Resurgence " !

😆

How about Lavanya dies with a bun in her oven? It turns out not Arnav's.... Still the pain Khushi will go thro' it's not worth it...

Swati, people are not getting it. There are immoral people in the world who don’t play by the rules; skirt the law. It’s a part of society that most of us don’t personally have contact with but it is there. Some of the responses are looking at things through rose colored glasses not as how a certain section of often very affluent people sometimes behave.

Arnav was aware of it. As you said, he made his decisions and now there are consequences. Cynical but true.

He has been on a self destructive mode for quite awhile now. Working to distraction, pushing his wife away to the point of planning a divorce and ill treating her in the process. Drinking too much it seems to me, not just at the party, but a lot is mentioned about his needing the soothing effect that alcohol gives him. The high he gets from alcohol and cigarettes. Buying a super charged motorcycle and the thrill he gets from riding it. The need for adrenaline rushes like bungee jumping, the trips to places like Nepal. He is such a mess he is even into self harm.

Lavenya’s party is another thrill he is needing because his life is empty. He is majorly messed up. But, unfortunately for him he is now having to pay the piper. But Khushi too will be paying the price through really no fault of her own. I feel sorry for Arnav but I don’t like him much. He is making bad decisions after bad decision. His life is out of control by his own hands and he has dragged Khushi down with him.

Just google what RAVE parties include and answer is drugs, alcohol, sex, dance and music. Started in 80s in USA, initially these were dance, music and lights parties in big groups followed by anti-social behavior and drug abuse; there is nothing legal or ethical in these parties, no two ways about it. The whole world especially even teenagers are educated about what RAVE party is. Here there was no doubt in Arnav's mind that he has entered a RAVE party.

Let's say Arnav was drugged and he didn't even do the final act. Lavanya, the known morally corrupt bitch is lying through her teeth about being pregnant but now is caught and it's all resolved. Arnav has survived the incident.

But how he is going to look into the mirror or into his wife's eye and explain that he instantly knew it was rave party as soon as he entered and saw high-profile guests nodding under the cocaine induced glee, he even admitted to Lavanya he is not exactly a fan of drug fuelled smoke fests but still he chose to stay back in a stranger's rave party without his trusted crew by his side, and let himself loose to drink heavily. How he is going to ever justify hiself for finding himself next morning sleeping next to a naked woman who is not his wife and he has clear memory of doing things with her under the influence. How he will forgive forgive himself when a simple choice of stepping back and walking away as soon as he realized it was rave party would have saved his day.

He wanted to release his mental stress, he always had a choice of drinking with his friends and not in a strager's party, completely unacceptable. There are always better choices in life for a married man going alone and staying in a RAVE party.

And the consequence, he could have got the other woman pregnant or the notorious tramp Lavanya accused him making her pregnant out of his reckless act of adultery, the right he is denying to his beloved wife for years, has become the bone of contention in their relationship, he has pushed his awife away due to this and even considering to give her divorce! Imagine the pain she would go through just for being the wife of this idiot man! What message he is sending to his dear wife whom he claims to love, I will get any woman pregnant by being reckless but I have problems with you, so I ill-treated you all these days and hence I am going for divorce!

I have already said Khushi is the most unlucky woman on this planet and her suffering seems to be never ending; as for Arnav, he doesn't even deserve pity for this act. Sympathy, rape angle, Arnav being a victim, my foot...

I have enough sympathy for him due to his mental state but not for the adultery act which he could have easily avoided by walking away. Only saving grace, he didn't cry foul and immediately accepted his grave mistake of staying back in a RAVE party and its consequences.

The day he forgives himself, Khushi should forgive him. I rest my case.
