I was recalling the Eve teasing incidents which most of us girls go through and I feel so bad for Arnav.

I am not going to get into alcohol and dru*s different impact on mind, not even what can be proven in courts. And will listen to only my heart and say alcohol or dru*s, in both cases Arnav was se*ually exploited.

This is so sad, have no words for it.

I’m just going to wait for part 2 and then Lavanya’s pov. There is a fourth pov as Arpita suggested which I think might be Manali’s as she definitely might have played a part in the drama. There is something fishy with the whole Lavanya Manali debacle.

After rereading the chapter, I still feel that he did not do the deed completely. He was so intoxicated that if he removed his boxer, he won’t be able to pull it back. Also intoxication can cause arousal and erection but majority of people are unable to do penetration part🥰

Also, if he was so intoxicated, he may have done to the removal of clothes part, but not anything further, this is just my opinion as have quite a bit of experience due to my profession, how people behave when they’re intoxicated and drugged.

And also, Arnav would not know that because he has only foggy memory up to clothes removal part. Unfortunately except Lavanya, nobody else would know the truth. Arnav is a very honest and righteous person( makes me extremely happy that his character is maintained), and with the scattered memory, he will definitely blame himself unless someone else tells him exactly what happened.

Ironically no one may not know as La was the only one and that obsessed cunning lunatic will never tell voluntarily unless there was third party witness.

@Arpita— I am extremely grateful and thankful that your Arnav’s character is maintained. I am in the story full fledged actively now as my biggest phobia and PTSD of infidelity is cleared up. I do not care where there journey will end. I am with you till the end with whatever twist and ending you have planned.

Thanks again for writing this story of flawed characters.❤️🙏

Girls, I feel we are spinning it in different direction without looking at the big picture. My two cents from the elite parties I attend in USA or back in Mumbai. I am giving you bigger picture here, though many of you of may not like it or agree at all… This is what it is…

Most of these elite parties start normal, aimed for networking and are normal until certain time (family, kids also present during initial hours and escorted later) and then once most crowd is gone, few usual suspects convert it to a rave / drug and whatever goes on is expected. It doesn't matter its a man or a woman, they all let loose, drugs / alcohol / sex happens, no one cares who initiated or who ended it or who ended up with who... Next morning people wake up, don’t even look who is sleeping next just like Priyanka in Fashion movie, wear their clothes and walk out as if nothing happened. Have you ever heard anyone going to Dr checking if they were drugged or raped, then approach police, NEVER. Do you think police even entertain such matters knowing it happened in a rave party unless somebody died, hell NO… Your morals, ethics, rules, consensual or not, and laws don’t apply here, I am sorry. These parties are exactly for the opposite purpose, high-profile people who live by the rules, are constantly in limelight where their every moment is being watched come here to unwind, get raw with needs, go to the dark side, and enjoy; then again by the morning they would have their shades on (Arpita mentioned this for a reason). This is basically excused to give in to your desires, shit happens when no one is in control, but nobody blames the ENV, drugs, alcohol etc. Everything is pushed under the rug and life goes on. Is this even right, a big NO at every level but this is how it is meant to be and people who attend such parties know it crystal clear including Arnav and their EYES WIDE SHUT. This is universal, no countries excluded.

Most men and women are out there waiting to be part of suchscenarios, be opportunist to get a bigger role in movies, get noticed / make deeper connections with biggies in the Bollywood / business world etc. Some are in for stress relief or addiction to drugs, sex, or to find inside scoop to use it for their advantage and the list go on. Worst case scenario, rarely someone crying foul or blackmailing later for some quick money happens but then they are blacklisted and removed too. "Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused by..." for their personal benefits and agenda is a fact here...

Now as soon as Arnav entered the party, he realized this was not networking or script / movie discussion party. He sawhigh-profile people under cocaine induced glee confirming it was an exclusively private rave party where as soon as you enter, it's all about drugs/alcohol/sex. And yet his personal choice, he wanted to let his guards down for the first time KNOWINGLY, threw his caution to the wind too. It doesn’t matter the personal stress on his mind, he felt needed to let loose in such a place and he was already on the sixth drink when La approached him. He saw Khushi sent few pics and his choice was to silence the phone all together, not call back or text back… Things would have been different if he called her, isn’t it?

He mocked Manali for not playing by rules with industry games. He has been in the industry for years to exactly know what happens in the exclusive rave parties, what it means by letting loose in these parties and most importantly how much Khushi hates these parties and these people. As an astute businessman Arnav is aware he is a rich, young and a handsome producer, must have experienced women hitting on him when he attended parties alone, not exactly a fan of drug fueled smoke fests but didn’t think twice before letting loose, how ironic?

By the end of the day nothing changes the fact that he stayed back in such a party by his own CHOICE and if not La and Ma planned, he would have probably woken up with some other woman or even a man… Considering La and he had great working relationship, also he was not aware of her evil intensions or how morally corrupt she was, maybe he counted on her to bail him out and requested her again and again to call his driver, but La herself turned out to be the culprit. Was Arnav in it emotionally, hell NO but still the onus of this blunder is on him first. Then he clearly remembers giving in, responding to drunk La’s advances, nails it for him. Though La honestly accepted she came on to him, his thought process was they both gave in to needs, doesn’t matter who started it but they ended up doing it, which is right in my view and initial thoughts (even Bollybabe had similar views). No wonder Arnav didn’t go deeper and accepted it as his grave mistake.

I 200% agree when everyone said a girl walking with small clothes is not inviting men or molestation in normal situations. But imagine a good girl dressed in short dress by mistake standing in brothel area will be guaranteed looked at / approached differently and will be misunderstood as she is inviting attention. All my relatives and bro are in Mumbai, every festival, holidays we used to be in Mumbai since childhood, but we were never allowed to go via certain streets in Grant Road area and there is a reason. The place, self-awareness, being vigilant and during worst-case scenario, a plan to get out from a bad situation matters the most. Arnav had none in this situation.

He had tremendous emotional stress from his personal life, was already thinking of divorcing his wife whom he loves the most, he was hurting, emotionally lowest and his decisions were impaired by that in the first place, alcohol, drugs came later. Though even after 6th drink, he spoke normally to La but went crazy after, has some drug / spiking angle, I still doubt if he remained awake to complete the act, but does it matter? He woke up only in his now famous boxer next to a naked woman who is not his wife, will it matter what he remember or not, what happened or not?????? Since it was his own choice to let loose in a stranger’s party (he doesn’t call La a friend) without his trustworthy people around him and it landed him with the worst possible outcome, unfortunate but he must bear the consequences, period.

I may consider cutting him some slack for his ignorance, making Khushi feel she doesn’t exist, due to his mental condition that send such people in self destroy mode but again he not sharing his feelings or emotions and choosing to run away are the biggest mistakes on his part. But forgiving him for the mishap with La is ruled out in my eyes because it was his choice he made when he was fully conscious; before he started drinking.

I am sorry for being blunt and burst the bubble but this is how I process the whole incident. Sorry I can't tag more than 10 people but this is for everyone to read...

Arpita, in response to your below question-

Also guys, because of a DM I just realized this.

Any of you want to change your endings for the ending challenge Swati issued? 😉

I have a super duper twist ending I am thinking of -

Lavanya is dead and police think it's a murder and the prime suspect is Arnav.

Now how he proves his innocence and redeems in Khushi's eyes, that would be his "Resurgence " !

😆

I agree Tashi..should not happen to anybody. It is awful.

He only blames himself for what happened in the party...then it is good that he does not know that he was taken advantage of? Less trauma for him.

Most trauma,if not dealt with comes back to haunt you eventually and mess your life or others. Like there is something in his past, that affected his married life. That affected his wife. Something he has not dealt with.

We know he does not want a child responsibility. But shoulders all kind of responsibilities but refuses to be Leher's guardian. He hates his hometown for sometime. He was vehement that Khushi does not go back there.

So what has he done or not done in the past..that affected a child?

Well, Swati, I didn’t know all about the underbelly of certain societies but you hit upon what I was trying to get across. I can’t absolve Arnav for the misjudgment for what happened. I think he realizes all that you said about the kind of party it was. He mentions several things you allude to. It was his choice to take the risk and now there are serious consequences.

I can absolve him of committing adultery if it all happened under mind altering drugs which he was given without his knowledge. Although, by my rereading he had downed his seventh drink and I’m unclear but the glass he threw over the balcony was his eighth. He was heavily drunk by then from whatever he was served. His decision to drink. And if Lavenya indeed was not drunk herself and didn’t take no for an answer she did in affect rape him. Her condition and his reckless behavior are my deciding factors in my thought process. If drunk neither were behaving rationally.

Swati, even if a se* worker refuses and says no, that right is respected. Law protects them and if they are forced it’s considered as ra*e.

I agree one has to be careful but it doesn’t give the other person the right to take advantage of you once you have said No.

No means No.

Consent under influence of alcohol or drugs is fraudulent consent.
