Salman did a blunder by doing kise ki Bhai kise ki jaan, which is the remake of a Tamil film . Again jhaanvi did two films which were Tamil remakes. Now Shahrukh ia doing a movie with Atlee in Bigil remake and Varun Dhawan is also doing a remake ..but why ??

"Theri " was the mixture of many movies, and nothing is fresh about it. It was a Vijay movie and that's the reason for the huge box office collection. Why on earth these BW actors wanted to do south films based on its collection numbers. Bigil too didn't had any fresh ideas . Why are they going behind box office numbers. South industry especially in Tamil ,Vijay and Ajith movies which had huge top collections were all below average ones. Only because of the leading actors fans craze it became a hit. Otherwise they were not even a one time watch.

And this man Atlee,is a big time copy cat,who just copies stories from 90's and early 20's or mix up many movie stories ..he doesn't have any talent except in spending or wasting producers money unwantedly. He is a fool otherwise.

Time and time again Bollywood is doing this mistakes post COVID!

If they want a sure hit, they can really go for a good search and do movies which matches thier culture and root values.

What do you mean? Instead of Tamil movies they should remake something else? Like Marathi movies for instance…

No ,since I am from Tamil Nadu I can say the quality of those movies and why recent times remade movies are not working out! I can't speak for other languages as I dont know.

Tamil films are great ,but the movies they are choosing to remake especially the ones I listed were not great. Thats my point.

Are you really Tamilian? Did you really watched Bigil ? There is no connection between Bigil and Jawaan

What are you trying to do with your post?

No doubt, I'm not a fan of remakes in the current times where regional movies are available with subtitles or dubbed...I'm rather outspoken against remakes...

Yet why cribb about ideas that aren't "fresh"??? The worldwide filmindustry has almost explored every idea one could have...still one story can be different from another one.

I don't get the sense of your rant...

Don't think TM is cribbing about that

I think she/he's saying remake or copy better more suitable movies, not lame movies

Maybe, but I read this "nothing is fresh about it"...

...and why - conveniently - take Atlee as an example for the reproaches...

Jawan is not a remake of Bigil. In fact, if we are comparing I'd say Chak de and Bigil have similar storylines.

But I get what you mean. Tamil industry produces some of the most caste and class conscious cinema, which are as original as they come and gripping. These are both critically and commercially acclaimed. But Bollywood would rather chase big ticket mass blockbusters just so they could break records.

They depict caste system in their movies?

Yes. Tamil cinema has always been deeply political. In recent times with directors like Pa Ranjith, Selvaraj etc dalit narratives and anti-caste driven stories have come in the forefront. Karnan and Asuran (both has Dhanush), Kabali, Kala, Pariyerum Parimal, Madhathay, Jai Bhim etc all were hard hitting movies centered around caste. And these movies do well commercially as well. It's not those indie movies that are only critically acclaimed. It's just that Bollywood remakes utter crap that can mint money, that movies like this don't come into light often. There are even many research papers written about the dalit and anti-caste politics showcased in Tamil cinema.
