Jawaan is a remake of Bigil🤣
Are you for real
All I wanted to say is,There are 100 s of good Tamil movies which are worth watching and can be made for Hindi audiences as well .Not all 300 crore films are wonderful and the best of Tamil cinemas .
Why I quoted Atlee? Because I read Varun Dhawan is doing a movie with Atlee which is the remake of THERI..thats it.
Regarding Jawan,I probably misunderstood it.
That was a mistake and I am really sorry about it.
And I am for real. Thats why I was wrong! To error is human I guess.
I agree..when there are so many worth watching and mindful movies , I wonder why Hindi audiences are served this commercial crap. But people here got offended by my post.Originally posted by: ohophelia
Yes. Tamil cinema has always been deeply political. In recent times with directors like Pa Ranjith, Selvaraj etc dalit narratives and anti-caste driven stories have come in the forefront. Karnan and Asuran (both has Dhanush), Kabali, Kala, Pariyerum Parimal, Madhathay, Jai Bhim etc all were hard hitting movies centered around caste. And these movies do well commercially as well. It's not those indie movies that are only critically acclaimed. It's just that Bollywood remakes utter crap that can mint money, that movies like this don't come into light often. There are even many research papers written about the dalit and anti-caste politics showcased in Tamil cinema.
Not just the movies u mentioned above ,few light hearted films like DaDa, Love today can work among Hindi audiences..
The movie u mentioned above are must watch as they depict our systems in detail. Its all about humanity vs castiesm.Movies with wider perspective.
