Better Sitcom ? Friends or Big Bang Theory ?

Thoughts ? With time TBBT has become more of my favorite. Friends seems meh now.

I think over time, esp the gen now has matured and advanced out of friends. They want something more different, something to think about rather than a simple sitcom with a lot of repetition.

I liked that one. I liked Taylor.

I thought u might coz, days of our lives, bold and beautiful and Sunset Beach were similar.

Don't know if you watched sunset beach. That finished 25 years ago

Big Bang Theory, hands down.

Friends was such a problematic sitcom. All sitcom characters are flawed, that’s part of what makes the comedy flow. But while BBT recognized their characters’ flaws and utilized them as ways to grow the character (Howard’s misogyny and perpetual inappropriateness, Sheldon’s full time neurotic behavior, and so on) Friends never dealt with their characters’ flaws head on and instead whitewashed it, like Ross’ misogyny towards his partners, or Monica’s controlling tendencies with everyone in her life (though this was recognized some but never dealt with).

I know Friends still runs in syndication here in the States but I think its audience is still the original audience. I don’t think a show like Friends would work in todays times with Gen Z or even Millennials.

I don’t know anyone in real life that was into Friends? Never understood the hype
