But a quick internet check shows she was indeed nominated for the filmfare best actress in a leading role award. She lost to Kajol who won for KKHH.

Maybe she should’ve won who knows. But why put out lies like this.

She was nominated for a filmfare award for Satya i believe. It was criminal she didn't get nominated for "Pinjaar" though - she was fantastic in that movie.

But it does seem true, she was not part of the nepotism system, so credit to her on that front.

Those days Filmfare used to go to the HAGOTY actors, and National Awards used to go to the glamourous actresses doing de-glam/gritty roles. So Urmila is cribbing about NA, not FFA.

She was nominated Best Lead Actress Filmfare 4 times. Lost 2 times to Kajol. 1 time to Rani and 1 time to Preity. Was she better ? Lets debate but to claim "I was never given any nomination" when a quick internet search can disprove it. That behavior will loose credibility with me
