It was his dad who gave him this suggestion to go to her and take care of her to win her heart, since she was sick. Then he was the one who saved her life. Had he not sneaked into her house like that, no one would have known that she was committing suicide and she would have died.

Also she never had a problem with him telling about her rape, in fact I felt that was the only thing she was thankful to him for. For telling everyone the truth because they had been blaming her for getting pregnant out of wedlock.😆 She told his parents herself about the rape, he didn't. He only went and told HER family about it because she didn't have the guts to face them.

And i don't think she really blamed herslf for the rape, her problem was that her family blamed her for it even though she understood it was not her fault. She even explained this to Sattu when he asked her why she hid the truth from her family, she said how would I explain to them what 'date rape' is. Just because I invited a guy to my room, just because I let him go to second base, how do I explain to my family that it doesn't mean he could go all the way without my consent?

That’s called contrived story telling. There’s absolutely no angle or way to justify a man entering a girl’s bedroom without her consent, and it’s specially messed up when it’s supposed to be a rape survivor storyline. I think the writer and director were too determined to make his character the savior of the girl because … yea of course a woman overcoming rape trauma should also be about a man 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I think you should watch the movie, you're perception might change.

I never saw Sattu as her savior, I just appreciate him for the way he loved her unconditionally and stood by her side without expecting anything in return. You know, in real life, especially in our society, there are many rape victims who never even get this kind of support. They would be pressurized into marriage, regardless of their trauma, their husband would expect his physical needs to be fulfilled without even considering what the girl is feeling.

I’ll watch it when it’s out on OTT.

Agree with the last parts of your post.

As I said in one of my previous posts I haven’t seen the movie and am basing this on snippets I’ve read about the movie. Before they get married doesn’t he sneak into her house and her bedroom to “check on her” and finds that she’s attempted suicide?

Actually it was mentioned in more than one review. Anupama wasn’t one of them, I don’t think. If it’s false let me know.
