What a lovely episode. Mazaa aa gaya!!!
One of the things I really loved about the relationship between Zaki and Azmiya is how much respect they have for each other. He loves her, he wants to protect her, but above all he respects her wishes and is patient with her throughout. She loves him, while she may not know it yet, but she wants to also protect him because foremost to everything she respects him.
The relationship was the most amazing one I have watched on TV for a long time. The situation is complex, the circumstances are out of their hands but how she wants the better for him and so does he. How he comforts and supports her, how she doesn’t want anything bad to happen to him. This between them is the simplest form of love.
Lovely …. Enjoyed watching these two
PS from episode 1 I was like what the heck is this mom…well thank god she had a redemption arc of sorts
what I enjoyed about zaki is that he does not have a white knight complex. he is not interested in swooping in on a white horse to save the day. he respects azmi as an individual and as a woman. he does not see her as some fallen woman or a damsel he has to rescue. he is willing to be a shield but ultimately, azmi has to make that choice for herself which she does. so that was nice to watch.
what I really appreciate about zaki is that he is a pragmatic realist. in some ways, the hard turns that life has given him has made him tough -- much tougher and resilient than azmi. same with his sister nadra. so he isn't throwing caution to the wind just because he is in love. he is well aware of what he is taking on with azmi but he is unafraid -- it is not like he didn't face social downfall after his father died or financial hardship or having to rebuild their lives or being responsible as the eldest and son.
because he has already faced these mountains, he is in some ways unafraid. so when he tells azmi that there is always a choice and God has given hands to work hard to change destiny -- he genuinely believes it because that has been his life. so when he says that nadra will survive and will get a better proposal if it is God's will, he believes it. he is not abandoning his sister or mother for a momentary passion but he is aware that problems will come and sometimes, you have to choose yourself first and let the cards fall where they may.
so zaki is actually really centered and it was enjoyable to watch a ML still be himself even after he has fallen in love. he has not lost his brains or his character.
