So since the show has gone down the drain completely , in my head I came up with an alternative narrative of how the show’s story could have been ... It starts at the Darmiyan episode where Anupamaa hears out Anuj’s confession and they decide to remain friends ( which was probably the last sensible epi the writers wrote and one of the most beautiful by ITV standards )

Over the course of next few months , Anuj and Anupamaa deepen their friendship and mutual understanding. Anupamaa who is working under Anuj learns and they execute the restaurant or whatever project successfully . Anupamaa is also working hard on the side to continue her dance academy along with Samar , slowly it begins to gain reputation as one of the best DAs in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile Anuj decides to adopt CA , who is 4 years old at the time ( I am aware that acc to Indian laws it’s not possible for a single man to adopt a girl child , but CA is probably the only ch I care about in the story now , so I’m gonna take some creative liberty ) . Being a first time parent he faces a lot of challenges which Anupamaa helps him overcome , but none of the usual ITV shit that she’s badi Maa or watever to the girl . Anuj is a single parent to CA .

There is Mukku’s entry and we have a track similar to Vanika but not the extent shown in the show . At the last min Mukku is able to see through Vanraaj’s manipulations and save herself . Post this , she and Anuj decide to break all bonds with Vanraj and the Shahs who support him( Baa , T etc ) . Out of regard for Anupamaa and her children, they only kick him out of the company but he remains jobless 😈

Kavya is pregnant with Vs child but decides to divorce him and move out to give her child a better life . She’s given a job in KE where she’ll be replacing Anupamaa who has decided to devote herself to her DA completely . Here we have a role reversal of sorts where Anupamaa is her professional senior , but a great bond develops between the two as they support each other . Kavya finally ends up with Aniruddh who accepts and loves her
baby as his own child ❤️

Anupamaa has moved out of Shah house but continues to remain attached to them ( sort of trauma bonded ) . This causes a bit of friction in her and AKs friendship Anuj also realises , though he admires and respects Anupamaa , the feelings he harboured for 26 years were a sort of facade . They begin to grow distant and finally part ways when Anuj shifts his headquarters back to US , along with CA.They remain in touch formally only via msgs on rare occasions like Bdays .

Over course of time Anupamaa realised her toxic attachment to the Shah family and decides to devote herself completely to her dance ( how she realises I Dunno and don’t care ) .. She takes therapy and has a much better relation with her kids outside Shah fam influence . She and her troop are performing in India and once or twice in international locations . In short she has her “Udaan “ both professionally and also personally .

Though there is not much contact between them she finds herself thinking an d missing about Anuj often , but does not do anything about it , keeping herself busy with her dance .

Anuj is a devoted parent to CA and continues to flourish in the biz world . Both Anupamaa and him are proud
of the other’s success .

Finally after 5-6 years they meet in London on occasion of Mukku’s wedding , where Anupamaa has been since 6 months on a contract . CA is now a sassy pre teen . Few sparks fly and they rekindle their friendship . Slowly over time they fall in love , in a more mature fashion than the 90s Naach ganaa . ( In my version I want Anuj to fall in love with the person Anupamaa is now , not the version he fell in love with in college ) .
2 years later , (post bit of resistance from CA ) , they decide to get married ... and grow “ old “ together .

Post the marriage there is NO leap and show shuts down cz it has been getting 0 TRPs 😆

This is very well written but I also wanted that they should have explored how cheating psychologically affected Anu and how hard it was for her to be coordial with Kavya. Then how slowly she let her bitterness go. How sometimes she was against Kavya just because she cheated her and how slowly she forgave her .

CA how she became close to Anuj here she form day 1 started treating them like her father mother, her insecurity, her gradual trust building, everything

Gauri this would have been a lovely organic love story if made outside the ITV norms…

why cant they have a spin off on OTT? I’d pin itto my favourites❤️
