I have been thinking why does anupama call vanraj Mr Shah and vanraj calls anupama/anu and not ms anupama or even Mrs kapadia.

Any thoughts on this....is this what happens after divorce as in the UK, I haven't seen this.

As it doesn't make so sense....any ideas why

Big big things in this serial don't really make sense. I doubt there is attention to detail at all.

Maybe, this is to imply that Anupama has moved on from Vanraj but Vanraj still wants Anupama back in his life. So, Anupama uses the formal version of his name and he doesn't.

Anupamaa addresses Vanraj as mr Shah because when she was married to him, she never called him or addressed him by his name, a sign of showing utter respect to her awesome *puke* husband.

Post divorce, she still can't take his given name, so she opted for a more formal route: Mr Shah👍🏼

Except when she goes livid, then Anupamaa roars VANRAJ...Shah.

As for Vannu, he used to call her Anupamaa. N whenever he needed to soften n butter her or blindfold her, then he goes into 'Anu' mode.

n nowadays, after Anupamaa married Anuj, n Anuj very lovingly calls his wife Anu, meri Anu, jealous Vanraj is hell bent to call Anupamaa( his lost manipulative toy/maid) as Anu too.

Basically, its clash of titans.

The one who calls her Anu, Anu will be....whatever.
