Song: Buku Hom Hom Kore
Singer: Bhupen Hazarika
Movie: Maniram Dewan (1963)
Actor: Phani Sharma
Lyricist: Bhupen Hazarika
Music: Bhupen Hazarika

Assamese tea plantation pioneer and businessman Maniram Dewan plotted to expand the 1857 uprising and was hanged by the British occupiers of India in 1858. This song expresses his turmoil, addressing his mother the homeland: his heart is thumping, he is sleepless, but how can he be her son without being willing to die for her?
I can neither read Assamese nor understand it, so whoever can, please correct any mistakes.
Lyrics (copied from video above)

The song was written when 18 year old Khudiram was hanged to death by the British. In the song, (in first person narrative), Khudiram is asking his mother to bid him goodbye (since he is going to die). The song goes on –
Ekbaar biday de ma ghure ashi
Hasi hasi porbo phnashi dekhbe bharatbasi
Mother bid me farewell once, I will be back soon.
Whole of India will watch me While I wear the noose smiling
(For the entire translation see: Ekbar Biday De Ma Ghure Ashi - Wikipedia)
Great thread with an emotional subject. This topic evoked many patriotic feelings as well as childhood recollections. Thank you for starting this thread, Raji.👍🏼
In India, from all regions, all Indians took part in the freedom movement, particularly Bengalis, who were on the front lines of freedom fighters and produced outstanding patriots and revolutionaries! Do you know India recognizes both melodies, Jana Gana Mana, as our National Anthem and Vande Mataram is our National Song! Both are equal in status.
Hemant Kumar has made this song immortal with his music.

The poem “ne majasi ne” was written by Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on the shore of Brighton after the death of his side Madanlal Dhingra in England. It’s a call by him to the ocean to take him back to his motherland. He refers to his country as his mother in the poem.
Written in 1906 when he went to England on a scolarship to study Law. He had complated the
barristorship successfully. The British arrested Savarkar for writing the biography of Italian revolutionary Joseph Mazzini. When he was being deported to India, he jumped ship near the French coast of Marsellies. It's also said that this poem was written from the prison in Marsellies.

Here's an English translation of the first verse:
Oh Ocean, take me back to my Motherland!
My soul in so much torment be!
Lapping worshipfully at my mother’s feet
So always I saw you
Let us visit other Lands to see
The abounding nature, said you.
Seeing my Mother’s heart full of qualms
A sacred oath you did give to her,
Knowing the way home, upon your back
My speedy return you promised her.
Fell for your promise did I!
That worldly-wise n’ able be I
Her deliverance better serve do I
Upon returning, so saying I left her.
Oh Ocean, my soul in so much torment be!
