CSK almost never lose at Chepauk but as luck may have it, they did lose their previous home game at Rajasthan but have made up for it with wins on the road in Mumbai and Bangalore. What has worked for them so far has been their batting, with either Ruturaj and Conway scoring big almost every game, while Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane enjoy a rather unexpected career renaissance this IPL. Their death bowling has also risen with every passing game, with Tushar Deshpande and the inclusion of Pathirana covering most bases. CSK prepared a slightly slow track against RR which ultimately led to their own downfall, but tonight they might be tempted to do the same given the SRH middle-order is filled with overseas batters.

As a pacer, you need to have variations to succeed on this pitch, same goes for the spinners.
