But feelings can not be controlled. And Mariyam's age is like 20 years. She has not seen life. If she had actually loved a good guy then it would have made the story interesting. Meerab trying to convince Maa Begum and Murtasim for the guy would also have elevated her character. Mariyam is not thinking from larger perspective. She should have at least tried to fight for her love.

Now how will he handle this trauma compared to how she handles hers?

Will he lash out at her as she lashed out at him?

How will he punish her compared to how she punished him?

How will she help him rebuild his world again, will it go above and beyond what he tried to do for her?

Murtasim didn't fail in helping her heal he just ran out of time before fate struck him a mighty blow, will Meerab succeed where he failed?

What happened to Meerab wasn't her fault and what is going to happen to him won't be his fault either. Just one of KMK trails en route to his happily ever after with wife and kids. They will never be alone in pain, when she lost everything he endured along with her and now she will suffer with him. Her duties much harder than his, she has to help the husband, son, brother, leader and she as to help herself too.

Yes everyone else are a means to an end to serve the bigger plot, and only Murtasim matters, because of him Meerab matters but not as much.
