For me chivalry is my man standing on my side when I need him.....baaki sab I don't care......I think I told this story before but telling once again....šŸ˜†

So we do Teej ka vrat....it is like Karwachauth but we drink water and eat the next morning.....so after my marriage my first teej.....I was hungry and tired and just lying on bed exhausted because I had never experienced hunger before...šŸ˜†.we were in my in laws house......my husband comes to the room....closes the door and takes out an apple...and tells me jaldi jaldi kha lo.....kissi ko pata nahi chalega....his face was full of concern....and at that moment I fell in love with him againā¤ļø......now this was chivalry for me.....that worry on his face that I might die of hunger was chivalry......baaki door kholna samaan uthana is useless if he doesn't care for you....

Also I think in this age we shouldn't even be expecting all of this...

Frankly I don’t think most guys even know how to flirt or how to indulge in banter. Chivalry tou bahut hi door ki baat hai. It is difficult to find a guy who has simple manners. I feel most girls are brought up with so many instructions - do this, do that, sit like this, don’t be rude, and most boys with none, this imbalance has led to most guys honestly not knowing basic manners, or sometimes even how to behave or talk to the opposite gender.

I am not saying all boys are like this, but definitely lot more than necessary for the society. Most men don’t really mature, unlike girls who mature way way too soon.

And it’s because of this maturing most women go by their lives not expecting chivalry or anything much from men. It’s like my brother always says - Men need to buck up!

Some women like being wined and dined. Some women find that patronizing. Many men go Dutch by default because 1) many women do get pissed when men wine and dine them 2) let's be honest, shit is crazy expensive now. I have no qualms about wining and dinning men or women on my own dime.

C'mon people - communicate. Be transparent about what you want and do not want in relationships. It's not rocket science. Want to be wined and dined? Put something in your dating profile that signals you like to be wooed the old-fashioned way. If he plans dinner at an expensive restaurant, say something like, "I'd prefer something more modest if we're going Dutch." What's the worst that could happen? He cancels? Doesn't that weed out the dealbreakers ahead of time? But if you don't want him to cancel - chivalry may be nice to have but not as important as you're making it.

Transparent communication is key in meeting the right people. Don't play mind games and expect people to know what you want.

There are guys who do this.

Do you guys miss the good old' chivalrous days?

I am saying this because I went on a date recently and the guy was like let's split the bill at this very expensive restaurant he had chosen. Of course, I didn't mind that as I would have offered the same myself but I do feel he shouldn't have said it.

Needless to say, I'm not meeting him again.

What do you guys feel? Is chivalry an outdated concept or do you miss those days when men used to wine and dine women?

Recently, there was an uproar when Hrithik was seen holding Saba's slippers. I think such things have become so unusual that even small acts of chivalry are dissected.

Splitting the bills means that guy believes in equality. He respects that you are earning and aren't dependent on the guy to pay for you. Also guy was being practical about splitting the bill with someone where this is likelihood of never meeting again.

There was lack of communication from both sides he would have mentioned bill was getting split and you should have told him about restaurant being expensive.

Also I don't know if paying for your first date should be part of "Chivalry" or not, maybe that's why I'm single šŸ˜†
