Romantic Reveries

Posted: 2 years ago

Idk but asfar n aaliya's track seems more interesting to me than salman-aaliya which is not being explored r executed well bcoz of so many screen time to the side characters which aren't intersting enough.

Samiya, saif, shammo, shagufta, meena's family are not interesting characters an the whole focus of the story is on them.

Aaliya,Salman,Sophia,Thanvi,Shakeel,Asfar n Ali are interesting n fun characters nd the focus on the story should have been on them

I also never felt that the show will be only about them, but I felt that the show will be mainly about them. I was expecting something like the Ramadan shows such as Suno Chanda, Chupke Chupke, Chaudry and Sons, even Ishq Jalebi etc. in which there are lots of side characters and their storylines but the main focus is on the romantic lead. The ratio of the screen time between them is also accordingly. However, in Kuch Kankahi, the romantic lead characters are like the side characters.

However, when I watch it, I always feel disappointed. Sometimes I watch the entire episode but at the end, I feel as if nothing stayed with me. I can't pinpoint the reason but, as you said, I can't enjoy this show. I don't want to be a party pooper and ruin the pleasure of other people who're enjoying it or feeling it soothing so I rarely share my feelings. People here tried to justify my feelings by saying that its slow-pace or have a feel of old shows but we are accustomed to fast paced and sensationalized shows. However, I know, that's not the reason. I actually have a lots of variety in the kind of content I love. I loved some such slow-paced minimalistic movies that almost everyone find unbearable, but there's something in this show that make it so unsatisfying for me.

Slow pace is not the only reason, something is missing. They have best cast not just leads but ensemble cast is also amazing one. The topics they are bringing that's actually based on reality but still this drama lacks something, which is not able to make us enjoy. I have recently rewatched Alif, and I would say Sajal is too good, but here even she is not able to impress us.

Thats fine Even if leads will not get the max screen space, but at least kuch engaging aur entertaining element toh ho, I thought it would be like Angan (Ary) in which every character got screenspace but it was so entertaining and enjoyable unlike KA.

I don't think anything else is missing. This gives me old school pak drama feels. Nothing major or over dramatic happening. More to do with characters with flaws and clashes of pov rather than someone being completely evil just for the sake of it and the story moving forward through planning and plotting. From their own point of view the characters are right but for other's they are not. The drama also shows where every character stands and why some characters are the way they are.

The only problem with the drama is people cannot describe it in a single sentence? Is it a love story- no, just a family drama- not completely, social drama - again not completely, women empowerment drama- not exactly either, comedy drama- funny scenes are there but still not a comedy drama. It's a mixed genre drama with a little bit of everything. There is no particular story to it. We are just shown incidents happening to a family living in that house and people surrounding them and how those incidents take them forward.

I have seen that drama. Sheryar's character was so fickle minded that he test our patience😆 but the chemistry between sajal and him was really good.

I didn't find the chemistry from the first episode itself. O rungreza had 100 times more chemistry and I was waiting for something like that. Also, Sajal and Bilal are natural actors but here their dialogues interaction somehow looks very forced to me. Not only them, almost everyone else.

Maybe its dirctors fault. I haven't watched much shows of Nadeem Baig. But even Sinf -e-ahan and pyare afzal I found boring and left midway.

Some dialogues are not very heavy but heavy to the point that I feel its very forced. I guess that might be the reason.

Its not a bad show. I would say good. But not as good as I had expected it would be.

That's your point of you and I do respect that. But it's not necessary that if one person is liking a show, other also do like that. We all can have different taste. But I am glad you are enjoying watching it.

You addressed it well, Simple words main bolein toh inhoney Sarey genres ko Ek saath jhapaa paa liya hai 😂

They are trying to give so much content with huge cast, in a single show with snail's pace, actually we are not used to it. They don't solve one matter, and bring another one. Aisa lagta hai khichdi machi hai.

I really wish they will handle this drama well, I still have some hopes.

Nadeem Baig is a good director, he turned a typical story of mpth into a super hit drama.

Chemistry is there, for me but that spark is not there, jesa o rangreza main tha. Love buds wali chemistry nhi bilke buddies wali dekhti hai.
