Hello all,

Not sure if you'll be able to help me with this or not but here it goes. I'm Portuguese and since I remember my family really liked to watch Indian films. I've watched a few famous one from the 60s and 70s but there is one I seem to remember that no one else does. I've been trying to find it but no luck so far. I only remember a few details... Female twins and one is murdered. As a revenge the sister acts like her sisters ghost and preys on her murderers. I remember a scene one the killers is driving and sees her on the side of the road like a ghost wondering if she could be alive or just haunting him. I believe their names could be Ani and Anu but again this could be bad translation to Portuguese. Anyway appreciate any help you can give. Thank you

What's love got to do with it?

One of the producers is Jemmiah ex-khan, and the movie stars Lily James (love her face) , Emma Thompson and shabana Azmi and plenty of brown people.

I went into the movie with zero expectations, I had no idea the movie existed and the subject of said movie, I went because my cousin wanted to see it.

Basically it's about a guy in the UK who goes down the route of being arranged marriaged to someone back in Pakistan. The movie was humorous, unapologetically truthful .. light heartened and some moments * the truthful ones.. very heavy.

It was refreshing to see a movie done from a guys perspective, and refreshing to see the guy going into it happily.

unfortunately I relate to this movie, my very modern parents felt instead of girls throwing themselves at me in uni they will combat that by throwing one at me instead. Lol I related to the guy because people back home tend to think boys/girls raised in the western world lack boundaries. I can remember the conversation when she told me the same... what you don't drink? Etc lololol you are so conservative! .... And anyway we tend to think the girls/boys back home are conservative.. they aren't.

The ending was great.. although they showed the couples to be happy and move on swiftly. It's often not the case.

In my case the girl messages nonstop on fb and emails, 10 years on.. about 3 times a mth.. about how great we were together and that I should give her another chance, I don't even read her messages sometimes for years.. so damage has been done on both sides.

It's messed up, people should stick to their own cultures.

Ankhon Delhi- a strange, whimsical movie, very nicely enacted and made me think which is not something that many movies do.Is it selfish to be true to oneself or is it something all of us owe to ourselves?

Sethum Ayiram Pon-

Missing my own village makes rural looking movies attractive to me.

It is striking how similar yet different village life is in different parts of India.

The tradition of rudali is an almost extinct tradition in my village I think but in this movie village it is very much alive.

There is humour, sadness and a lot of love in this movie.

I read that this was the debut movie of the director and it is a very commendable effort.

Raangi

I started watching it for Trisha, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable. She was looking stunning as usual. I wish she could have done more hindi films.

It is streaming on NetFlix.

3.5/5.

A Thursday. It was an interesting thriller though a bit predictable at various times. Yami Gautam was pretty good. One of the better movies I have seen recently.

Fcuk this shit because I’m spitting mad right now. I was thinking of re-watching Veer Zaara after crying over the Tere Liye song but now I’m pissed off. Veer would’ve met Zaara when they were in their 20s, so when they reunited 20 years later, both would’ve been in their mid to late 40s. For the sake of arguing, I’ll even push it to 50. SO WHY DID THE DIRECTORS MAKE THEM LOOK 70?

I get it, Veer lived a rough life in jail and Zaara would’ve been grief-stricken at the thought of him being dead for all these years. I get it, I really do. Traumatic life events can age you but come on, there was no need to make them look so frail and old.

I mean, we have John Abraham at the ripe age of 50, ready to be plucked and devoured, but you had to make Veer and Zaara act like they’ve been living on these earth for 99 years. Y U DO DIS. They better have dyed their hair back to black because I refuse to scare myself into thinking that this will be my haalat in 10-15 years.
