There was an article on Sagars on 12th May in Bombay Times….i'm typing it down here……sorry couldn't post the pic…here it is ……😛

"From mythology to thrillers"

The Sagars' younger generation is experimenting with different genres.

Think Ramsay brothers and you think horror. Think Sagars and what do you think? Mythology of course! Bring the topic up with Amrit Sagar ,grandson of the late Ramanand Sagar and he laughs, " Poor Ekta too suffers from the same syndrome! It's just that we're all branded for what has worked best for us. I also made Hotel Kingston which was not a mythological show but in comparison, it's the mythological ones that have done so well . But that should not be the case because we are all creative people," he says.

That's why Amrit , who's directed a film titled 1971 earlier , believes that it is not much about breaking stereotypes but more about bringing up something which is different and exciting for the audience, with his latest offering – Vijay……Desh ki Aankhein on NDTV Imagine. The show, which falls in the spy-thriller category , is about a specialist security team that works to protect the country. How did Amrit come up with the concept? "Call it deshbhakti or anything else, but I have always felt a bonding with my country. Even when I was in the US for five years doing a film course ,I always wanted to come back," he says.

But isn't there a risk in doing something which is not tried and tested ,like say, a mythological or a saas-bahu which are doing well? " When we made Prithviraj Chauhan , then people said it would not work but it did. Similarly, when we made Ramayan , again people said that a remake won't work but it is. I believe that a good product will work and I can say for sure that my show is a good product." says Amrit.
