Disclaimer - Haven't watched the movie, nor will I watch. But from the discussion above, the narrative is -

1. Pathan is a RAW agent who is muslim and obviously a patriot.

2. In the beginning it's established that the main villains are Pakistan and ISI (yeah, got it. Then, surprise, surprise - it flips the narrative. )

3. India and indian agencies let him down big time so he obviously and justifiably turns anti-india and goes on a revenge trip. (Heroes are always justified, especially when they are played by SRK. On a similar note, Suneel Shetty had a similar role in Main Hu Na. There he was the villain and SRK preached him there can be no excuse to go against one's nation.)

4. So anyway, moving forward, our dashing and devasted hero is fighting his own nation who let his wife and child die. By this point, the main villains are shifted to somewhere else - yes, not Pakistan or ISI but India and RAW. How convenient! But we shouldn't bring that up to spoil this party. Teri bhi chup, meri bhi chup.😆

All I can say is I didn't expect any different from this film. Bollywood peddling lies and showcasing stories to satisfy their egos. My poor mind wonders why they could not bring a truly patriotic muslim story - that the Pathaan was working with RAW to bring down some American/British or even Pakistani plot. It's not like there are no patriotic muslims in India. And the movie will still be loved.

But no. The ultimate villain must be India. Jaise nadiya ki dhaara kahi se bhi bahke saagar mein milti hai, every narritive must end up in vilifying Indian police, government, army, basically everything Indian. That's the end goal. And the srk fans are too deluded to realize it.

I agree, initially based on reviews I thought John was the bad guy. But what Heisenberg mentioned that he becomes Anti-India post his wife and unborn son is killed but does nothing against India until paid is a joke in itself 😆

The trope of soldier going rogue because he/she feels his country let him down has been in movies since ages and Hollywood does it best. Kuch naya nahi hai idhar. Hollywood especially uses this plot device the most.

Pathaan is simply a well done, globe trotting, action flick with an uber patriotic lead. Uske alawa Jo bhi agenda dikh raha hai woh aapke dimaag mein hai, movie mein nahi. Warna Aaj ke time mein a movie with an anti India agenda or pro Pak agenda wouldn't have worked at the BO

Some random thoughts:

- Soooooo good to see SRK on the big screen again 🥳

- I can't believe how excited I got when Tiger came to save him despite not caring about Tiger EVER in the actual Tiger series. Seeing that scarf got me hyped 🤡

- I couldn't take my eyes off Deepika when she was on screen. She was serving looks! (Minus her blond wig situation. Girlies, I simply just have to erase that from my memory before it affects me any further😕)

- John is sooo ☺️ when he is being a villain. Dammit. He was born to act evil!

lel Jim’s revenge is not against India as he said. He just disassociated from the labels of country and soldier and patriotism. Hence, was working with similar mindset people devoid of any emotions for humanity . And Pathaan says , so many incidents which countries think was done by some terrorist groups was actually done by Jim . whoeven knows what all he did in India .. you need another spin off movie for that .. and people looking for logic in an action + entertainer movie is LOL .

Forget private groups like Jim’s company there are even private militaries hired in actual wars and invasions…. The number of privately hired security personnel outnumbered US army on ground in both Afghanistan and Iraq…

When Rubina was taken away Pathaan says she’s a traitor to isi and the punishment of a traitor is same everywhere. She was a defector.

Even in the beginning they said that Pak army was not happy with the removal of article 370. The problem in pak army anyway lies in the corrupt generals who directly/indirectly want to rule the country and have beef with neighboring countries in order to justify their fancy “stipends” or are we supposed to belief that every single of however many million foot soldiers are there in the army is the same. It’s the evil clowns on the top who basically want unaudited budgets. you yourself mention that the country is run by generals who don’t listen to anyone tu movie mein bhi general ko he dikha rahay haina…

It's not just a "few bad extremists" though, is it? Pakistan officially uses terrorism as a tool to engage in proxy war against India, those who join the ISI know what they're getting in to, this is not even hidden, you can't achieve this unless you have widespread organisational support, otherwise where are the real life Rubina's of the world, why haven't they defected?

That article is not talking about intelligence officers, 25 of them were civilians, and they were honey trapped, here we're talking about an ex-Raw agent launching a terrorist attack against India, that's never happened, what has happened numerous times are terrorist attacks backed by Pakistan, the movie ignores this reality to create a fictional boogeyman, not sure why they felt the need to do that when reality could've served as the basis for the plot,

You should watch it when it comes on OTT, it is an accidental comedy. 😆
