Bollywood audiences usually don't book tickets in advance. It tends to mostly be people on the counter or people booking very close to the show.
It's a demographic factor. Pathan will be driven by families who don't tend to advance book. As opposed to an avengers driven by young audiences. It's the same as any industry. Even Avatar 2 was very low on advance bookings.

Natkhat ji I can’t speak for Indian cinemas but in my local California theatre sat aur Sunday evening shows tu book hain he, look at the shows for Tuesday
I took this screenshot 2 hours ago, and look even for Tuesday only the seats nearest to the screen are left….
Ubb yeh na kehna, California k Ek chotay se suburb mein bhi yrf doing dhandli
as for high ticket price concern… bahubali2 ticket prices were double triple the amount… no one seemed to mind
I saw it in US, the day regular ticket price was $6.50 that say bahubali2 ticket was being sold for $25 so this sudden “concern” for high ticket price being reason for high collections should be shown for every big ticket movie
