Also, I was thinking about how Ehsan just randomly showed up to Katha's house. Usually, meeting a kid of a potential love interest (though this love interest is only in Ehsan's head) is a very big deal. I live outside of India so I can only say what I have seen here, but usually the timing of when to meet a child is a mutually made decision that is treated with a lot of care and thought. This is so that the child is in a mental state of mind to be able to accept the new person. In KA, Katha being a mother actually came as huge shock. The fact that Ehsan is meeting Arav (who was technically non-existant for a long time until the truth came out) should have been a big deal. So if Ehsan truly cared about her, the decision to go to her house and meet Arav should have been made sensitively and carefully. But none of that care was shown by him. In fact, him meeting Arav didn't even seem big; he made it so apparent that he was only there for Katha.
I kind of wish that the makers retained some of the scenes from OG though. There, Ehsan and Viaan meet Arav for the first time when Katha beings him to the movie theatre. The scene was cute because after Katha left, Viaan says that he would like to be a father some day. And Ehsan was so surprised to hear this, since V had never mentioned wanting to be a father before. But I do like how Arav and Dodo were criticising Ehsan together in the Indian version.
You just know they are team Viaan. 🙌
when it comes to re-marriage with kids and the dynamics with a potential new love interest, we don't have enough dramas or movies that cover what to do and what not to do. the idea of introducing a child to someone with a lot of care came after a lot of trial and error in the west.
as second marriages become more common, we will have to figure out a desi way that works for us within the local cultural context. here, it isn't just one person but also his entire family and that can include cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents. how do we integrate a blended family within the indian context? so dramas like this can explore it. if done sensitively, then these dramas can stir up conversation. otherwise, just regular ITV shenanigans. 😆
but yea, aarav and dodo getting irritated with ehsaan was amusing to watch. he is way too obvious!
