Haters brought BW and Khans together

As a selfish 90s kid, having grown up with Khans, Akki, Ajay, HR, and re runs of old AB films on TV, I am sort of happy that so called lean phase, hate propaganda and boycott gang has brought even rivals together and built bridges unknowingly.

I liked to see SRK cameo in LSC and Red Chillies do VFX for an AKP film. Aamir and SRK working together in any capacity was unthinkable until a few years ago.

I was surprised to see usually diplomatic Amitabh Bachchan to speak on FoE, creative freedom. And SRK also speak on FoE.

I am happy to see HR speak on LSC and Pathaan. Despite all media propaganda pitting HR against Khans primarily due to religious and generational differences.

I am happy to see Salman cameo in Pathaan.

I was happy to see Khans together in that Rajat Sharma show some years back.

I like Akshay and Ajay slowly speak on boycott and anti BW propaganda too, despite being lackeys of same govt and I totally LOVED the lawsuit that all BW production houses filed against news channels during that SSR and drug case. The unity was unprecedented. It cut across ideologies and rivalries.

I like the togetherness in fans online too. It's sort of surprising to see kattar fighters unite to support films of own icons, rival stars on Twitter. A feeling that only ones who have seen these fan wars while growing up, can understand. It was just surprising to see fans unite against boycott gang, keeping aside rivalries and hate for rival stars and their fans.

I learnt Aamir's sister Nikhat has acted as SRK's foster mother in Pathaan. This is so nice to know. In a sense all have a certain connection now. Something which may have been there in 90s but got severed as all stars grew bigger in stature and more staunch in rivalries post 2000.

I am just happy to see the industry come together keeping aside rivalries. And I am also happy to see stars finally being known for FILMS and not just offscreen statements or controversies or weddings or babies or personal issues.

I am also happy that South stars got mainstream exposure which they always deserved. I mean thanks to IT cell and its politics, the indirect result was recognition of regional industry in masses.

I believe the hate only makes the icons stronger who have already stood test of time for over 3 damn decades. I'd like to see more of our idols work together or unite and support each other and take stand against, push back against haters, refusing to take the bait and stop playing the game that a political lobby wants them to.

More of Khans, ABsr, Akki, Ajay, HR et al supporting or working together please, more of entertaining films from them and more of industry posting and speaking for each other. Bring it on. Middle finger to anti BW haters working overtime to create fake propaganda against stars!

I absolutely agree! Seeing the audience come together as fans of cinema and Bollywood as opposed to just fan groups is heart warming. Thank you bigots and Gems of Bollywood for making this happen. 😂

Bollywood at the end of the day is business. It is the content that sells and nothing else.

All that boycott is hardly a few social media users.

The Bollywood woke up because south and Hollywood flicks did huge numbers. Even now it is still about the content.

LSC and Circus were flops because the trailer was bad and had no good songs.

SRK prime base is NRI audience and Pathaan songs clicked(though personally I did not like).

Deepika steps and all that came out was great pr good or bad publicity people talked.

Republic Day weekend, overpriced tickets.

We will have to see how it sustains over the long week . It is a sure shot hit though.

However one thing that Pathaan has is that it is not boring, yes it has a few problem areas in the film but overall if you see it never bores you. Fully action packed.

At the end of the day it is entertaining and it became a hit. Just that the political leaders across the spectrum have milked and will milk it to their own.

If people see movies as entertainment and actors as entertainers and not someone they should ape too, every one will be happy but then media and politics will not have much to do

Yeah. It is just heartening. I know BW are no bunch of becharas or helpless and they have their own serious issues, which deserve to be called out, but the propaganda against them is too hideous, full of sheer lies, which makes me wonder why they never take legal action to crackdown on it.

The increasing sense of power in these bratty IT cell cheapos was irritating. They needed to be brought to ground.

Anyway I think PM spoke a bit for BW as it is election year next year and he does not want to rub BW wrong way. Stars like Akki and Sunil speaking to ministers to curb anti BW trends and gangs was a good initiative. Grab the bull by its horns and put RW on backfoot taking advantage of election year.

I agree that LSC, Cirkus, 83 were slow or boring and lacked masala factor.

But boycott or attacks on theatres did have some impact as did lack of festive release and much of promotions for those films.

We are seeing attacks and propaganda against Pathaan too. But it was saved due to silence of SRK, keeping him and DPad away from media and SM, R day weekend, action packed content.

Stars not taking the bait of media, worked. Aamir failed bigtime when he offered apologies for old statements in pre LSC interviews or that edited clip of Bebo interview went viral where she said do not watch if you do not want.

It is good Pathaan team learnt from mistakes. And SRK and DPad spoke nothing. Neither begged audience to please watch their film. The silence worked. It is good.

Anyday all 3 Khans are bigger than Ajay and Akki. But the latter get favours from current govt thanks to bootlicking of BJP even before Modi won first term in 2014.

All national awards of Akki and Ajay are won under NDA/BJP govts.

It's SRK's magic all over. Just goes to show how beloved he is and how much cultural impact he has had on the whole subcontinent to generate a response like this. He deserves all and more. For all the ridicule DP faced post JNU incident this is a pivotal win for her too.

That aside, Bollywood acting like this was the saviour for all it's movies flopping in recent years is a joke. They are still harping on event films, larger than life movies than focusing writing, music and direction. They still haven't learnt their lesson. Sid Anand came up with the script for this while he was on the shitter. He lucked out that SRK decided to star in it, any other actor and this would have been Shamshera 2.0. The nostalgia and the general good will for SRK and Salman's cameo, DP's pairing have done the trick.

The music is horrible. Bad picturization of songs, formulaic plot, funny CGI; these are only some of the few things wrong with the movie. If an actor other than SRK had starred in this, the outcome on this forum would have been different. Before someone assumes wrongly, I absolutely do not care for the Hindu-Muslim and Pathan-Pandit Idiocracy going on in the forum. I'm honestly appalled by some of the comments wrt those topics. My only gripe is that even action films could have solid stories, and well thought out plot points. The 'terrorist is attacking, desh ko bachao' plot is overused to hell and back. Look at MI, Top Gun, Bourne Identity or even Ghazi (so well made but unfortunately did not do well). Had there been a superstar like SRK in a project like Ghazi, it would have been unimaginable. I wish SRK would star in good movies and refuse crap like Pathan henceforth. 😌

SRK coming back after hiatus in a unique role is plus point but cannot ignore the IT cell propaganda against him and DP.

The orange bikini controversy over Besharam rang was totally an RW target strategy. So comments on politics and religion are a given.

Everyone can see what kind of IDs post rants against films or target over religion or ideology. And what channels pick up or make controversy.

Why is Bajrang Dal attacking theatres screening Pathaan at some places? The communal targeting and politically motivated propaganda are a given. Let's not pretend it does not exist.

What part of my post has given you the impression that I'm "pretending" that boycotts and disharmony in regards to this movie does not "exist"?

Have you even read what I wrote? I have been against the Bolly boycott brigade for long time now. Don't come at me spinning stories bruh.
