The original Bengali show Sreemoyee is in a different league. If you see how it ended, it is inconceivable that Anupamaa could even take a similar decision for herself.

A better point of comparison could be the Marathi adaptation since it is by the same production house. Have not viewed it but I'm quite sure it would not be this exaggerated. At least, the lead character and writing would be more sensible.

Saw the yt clips of Marathi version too. The actress has done a splendid job. Nothing OTT.

Any day Sreemoyee. Sreemoyee has given me mine one and only favourite character of ITV. Rohit Sen. Also as Aisha mentioned Sreemoyee had growth in her character

Rohit Sen is the only character on ITV which was never compromised for TRP or anything. It was a very consistent character from beginning till end.
