Social media becomes very sensitive at times. He said telugu movie from the south of India where I come from. I think he wanted to keep the identity of the film separate from Bollywood which it is. That does not mean he was asserting a different national identity. It should have been taken in good faith. As it is South of India is more proud of their language, that's why various language movements have been there. In North of India Hindi language itself has gotten diluted without much protest that perhaps we sometimes fail to understand the sentiments.😆

Doesn't matter how many people speak south Indian languages. India became a unified country on the promise this will happen.

The promise got broken.

So south Indians are unwilling to put themselves at a disadvantage by agreeing to adopt Hindi as medium of communication.

And peeps have to wonder why?😆

I understand you & agree with you mostly. Just one thing. In my original post, I had not mentioned Hindi anywhere. That came up later only while arguing with a fellow member.

What I originally said was "one common language" and that would have been very much possible had we, all the communities, be united & was interested in a united India. For some statistical reasons, the term "common language" has become synonymous to Hindi & Hindi being a language of most North Indians is a problem.

The reason why I am not typing in Devnagari script or in any other native language is because we are not taught any common native language in schools. So we rather depend on a foreign language even when it's just us, two Indians are chatting. Feels the whole fight for our freedom & getting rid of the British a little bit pointless to me, that's all 😅😅

Anyway, to each their own.😅

Well.... I am really sorry for stirring up such a controversy. That was not my intention.

On topic, I just had to say that it's fine for Rajamouli disassociating himself or Telugu industry from Bollywood. Bollywood isn't really the sole representative of our country's movie industry. I just hope he is still proudly associating himself with India though.

Rest.... I saw a really one sided narration & thought to put forward my experience, which was the other side of the coin. The debate about who is right who is wrong never ends. No one really likes to admit their faults. But at the end of the day we are all part of the same country & I, personally, feel as much proud in saying I am an Indian as I feel while saying I am a Bengali. And I hope everyone feels that way. If not, then we are dividing our country ourselves & then blaming others. Isn't really a fruitful exercise.😅

Didn’t we always have South India mentioned separately than Indian movie in Delhi or other metro city film festivals ? When BW always considered SI movies separate than ‘Indian’ movies, why now cribbing about it ?

I am not a RRR type movie fan, however, if everyone loved it like crazy, then makers deserve all the applause they’re getting !

They eat up jobs from the deserving .. they market 1 yr exp guys as 10 yrs exp .. they do all kinds of fraud and they have that liberty as they are the majority here .. even the interviewer is from their community who will know that the candidate is fake but still take him/her coz they speak their local language ..
