Imagine being such a failed and obnoxious parent that you make you little daughter spew stuff like this about other women. Utterly shameful.

they're boycotting srk's Pathan, why this unfairness towards srk, Ajay whose movies are back to back successes, his daughter is cavorting around the world, not wearing much, and basically doing this "besharam rang" in real life. sorry to bring in a young girl into this discussion, but these boycotts are so mind boggling face palm propaganda, and people are so stupid to support this stuff.

and forget about Nysa devgan, the ambanis all the rich/middle class in India are doing the same. dubai, Europe, Thailand, Bali, carribbean. and the Muslim dubai the biggest destination for these people. there is no rhyme or reason in this boycott, doesn't make sense in the revealing culture thing or the hindu muslim divisiveness being created

I feel so sorry for the girl stuck with parents who have brainwashed her and used her for these harmful messages.

Media and social media do influence society. But people always misinterpret or misunderstand what is harmful. Female sexuality is not harmful. Women exercising their right to wear what they want is not harmful. Women having agency in their romantic or sexual lives is not harmful.

What is harmful is the policing of female bodies. Policing what women can wear creates a madonna-wh0re dichotomy where people believe that women who don't dress or act in a certain way are asking for it. What is harmful is shaming and censoring women for revealing their body or embracing their sexuality. It creates a culture of s|ut shaming and violence against women. What is harmful is putting the burden of chastity, cultural preservation, and so much more on women and women only. It absolves men of their responsibilities and even empowers them to rape because it is not their responsibility. What is harmful is portraying stalking and persistence as romantic. It leads to women being harassed and traumatized. What is harmful is glorifying male aggression and toxic masculinity. It leads to an unbalance of power that leads to unhealthy and abusive relationships.

And comprehensive sex education that emphasizes communication, conversation, and consent + encouragement of healthy gender socialization where men and women are encouraged to interact, collaborate, and develop meaningful relationships can surprisingly counter a lot of negative messaging young people receive from media.

I really like the Anaconda music video because it emphasizes that a woman's sexual agency is her own. Throughout the song, Nicki Minaj is being extremely sexual and provocative. But then when Drake touches her, she ends her strip tease and walks off. It's her body, her terms. Her sexual expression is not an invitation for men to do as they wish.

That was extremely messed up. In the year 2023 a group of people decided to make a video blaming rape and sexual assault on the victims, on entertainment media, on bikinis and dancing in a bikini, on even Deepika Padukone, essentially on anything and everything except for the rapists themselves.

I actually feel bad for this little girl. She’s too young to have done this on her own. She’s a young teen, maybe even a pre-teen and obviously incredibly impressionable, and as a minor under the legal and moral guidance of her parents. Unfortunately there are probably millions of other parents who are raising their daughters and their sons with the same mentality.

I can only hope and pray that there’s a strong and severe backlash to this video which will eventually lead to more conversations about rape culture and violence against women.
