Big B to join bachaas at Cannes

Seems like the Big B can't stay away for long from his Bachaas. He has flown to Nice, so he could join Abhishek and Aishwarya at the Cannes film festival.

The star's blog entry for May 7th reads, "The family has not been together for long, so we are going there to be together." Aishwarya has to be there at Cannes as she is bound by her contract with Loreal, one of the giant sponsors for Cannes Film Festival. Apart from giving company to Ash, Abhishek will be at Cannes for an added reason. His film Dilli-6 directed by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra will be showcased at the festival.

Last year was the first time that Aishwarya and Abhishek attended the festival as a couple. The festival coincided with their honeymoon but yet they decided not to give it a miss. It was picture-perfect when Ash & Abhi attended the screening of their film Guru.

Aishwarya has a longer affiliation with Cannes as she has been visiting the French Riviera every year since 2002, when her film Devdas was screened. It was Shah Rukh who had accompanied her then. And both of them entered the red carpet in style in a very royal looking chariot.

Perhaps the seniormost person from the industry to attend Cannes is Bollywood's evergreen actor Dev Anand. His film Guide will be screened in the classics section of the festival. The octogenarian says, "It's a wonderful film. It was enjoyed by the people of India and also the world abroad." Mumbai-based movie critic and writer, Anupama Chopra will also join the Bollywood bunch in Cannes.

Among other films, Sultan The Warrior, Love Story 2050 and Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film starring Bipasha Basu Sab Charitra Kalpanik, the animation film, Ghatotkach - The Master of Magic, Sarkar Raj, God Tussi Great Ho and Drona will be promoted at the fest.
