Coz Congress portrays itself as Left leaning. Which it is not by practical standards. Cong has always had Dynast head. Left ideology is against dynasty so I was like you for many years. Clueless as to how leftists support cong.

As I read more I came to know about this from many credible sources. Most academics and arts intellectuals had a great free food and parties in Congress rule. Many of these artists and journalists stayed rent free in central Delhi’s govt paid huge houses. Personal gain over public interest works for everyone.
