Kareena annoys me. She's dumb and elitist and more than a little bigoted. Not half the actor she imagines herself to be. Saif is the same.

They're also super adorable as a couple even though neither cancels the other's negatives😆. How is that possible?

Chem is about timing I think. I'm no actor, but if the timing of action-reaction doesn't match, chem doesn't show up on screen.

The other thing is audience perception. Peeps were wanting to see RS-DP on screen as they were still a new couple. Now, I'm not sure a film with them as romantic leads oppo each other would work.

Jaya and Amitabh, all their movies are classics and super hits. People still give the example of their couple when they want to talk about good chemistry.

You know, I'm convinced chemistry comes from the characters and how they are written. I thought Saif and Rani were electric in Hum tum, but so blah in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Saif and Vidya were on fire in Parineeta, although I wouldnt have imagined that. I then thought maybe Saif's persona works better with actresses that have a more calmer effect onscreen, but then he lights up with Preity who's bubbly. And I thought he and Kareena were so blah in Tashan, but so gorgeous and sublime and raw in Kurbaan, though the movie tanked. Its completely based on the way the characters are written

Thank you. Last time I tried to say writing is the core of any film, I got roundly mocked.

I agree, timing is also important. I also think chemistry also comes from how two people are portraying intensity, interest and curiosity towards each other, which comes through by believing their characters with full conviction.

Like the Bridgerton 2 couple, he be gay so theoretically there should be no attraction IRL😂 but they are fully immersed and portrays their curiosity and interest so well... bam you get to see chemistry.

Exactly! And that conviction comes first and foremost from well written characters and a convincing screenplay!

Yup, there's nothing like a well written characters/story, brought to life to by great actors with well executed cinematography👌

I mean what's the point of cinema if those things don't exist 💁‍♀️
