Yes film Dosti from Rajshri Productions. Super duper hit - not just film but songs also. Even musicians Laxmikant-Pyarelal got more noticed.

Considered a tear jerk movie in those days. No dry eyes in theatres.

Dosti was one of the first really old movie that I saw. My father liked it so much he made us watch it 😭. Quite a long movie. That movie was my introduction to Rafi if I remember correctly.

yes. unfortunately after that film, the two actors who played friends had unsuccessful carrier in Bollywood, The little girl played by Baby Farida is now known as Farida Dadi. at the moment she is in ekta's show Apnapan - plays Nikhil & Nandita's mum

All the anecdotes n performances too..barring Sanchari.

In Kavya's performance I felt she suited the song more while original visuals were distracting..Kareena, though being a good actress, is such a mismatch for Rajshri..she doesn't have that grace n softness that other Rajshri leading ladies had..at least in dance. Was thinking abt this throughout the performance and then Sooraj ji said the same thing..that this choreography wasn't his vision..his original plan. He changed it as per Kareena's persona. No wonder it didn't work..it was neither one's Forte.. nor actor's nor director's
