What’s the plot ?

It is based off a novel. Emily (Blake Lively's character) is used to the reset button. She killed her overly religious abusive father during childhood and managed to escape. Unfortunately, she makes it through college. Lands a job as the head of PR for a major fashion designer. She falls for the great writer (romantically intelligent attractive man) and has a son. While her twin sister just manages to become a heroin addict with no future.

Emily becomes friends with Stephanie Anna's character who has great secrets of her own but nothing as evil or as criminal as Emily. Emily goes missing. Stephanie solves the mystery. And realizes this is another scheme. Who wins at the end is the USP of the novel and movie. Different characters win in the movie and the book. This movie took a few acceptions and was not a complete adaption of the novel.
