same applies with letting go. If I’m told by letting go I’ll get this girl then I let go of her or think i did but then am looking for something to happen as i was using this as a technique to get something. In this case that girl but ofc it won’t work.
Letting go is dropping it. If you don’t resist you won’t have to drop it as you’re not clinging to begin with but most of us live in a state of wanting and not wanting.
so I talked to this girl on the train and we connected it felt good now her station has come and she has to go but I want her to stay, I’m wanting something which IS NOT, I’m not flowing with life that’s where I create resistance now because I’ve created it, i can become aware of it and drop it. In this instance wanting her to stay.
it’s seeing what clinging and resistance does and dropping it. It’s seeing that you’re holding on to a burning tea pot and dropping it. You don’t actually decide to drop. Seeing what it’s doing to you it drops by you through you.
What’s happening is all that’s happening. My train ride for eg took 5hrs instead of 2. I reached home at 2am. So I see the train is late an hour and I’m sitting in the station instead on the train. That’s all there’s nothing more to it but I can easily resist this and insist that it shouldn’t happen. Something else should happen (train should be here) instead of what is happening (it’s delayed) by doing this i create friction and resistance.
I can also make a story out of this like this always happens to me and add it to content of ‘me’
Part of my identity like I’m unlucky etc it can go in any direction depending on your conditioning.
so at any given moment see if you’re desiring/wanting something to happen or wanting something not to happen. These are the two movements of the ego. It’s either pushing something away or pulling something towards never resting with what is never fully allowing this moment to be, insisting things to go it’s way
so you’re not letting go of any object per se, you’re letting go/dropping desiring itself. When you see you’re wanting something you drop it.
it can be small like not wanting a conversation to end or something big but in both cases you see what it’s doing to you. The pain you feel is not because you don’t have it. The pain is because you want it. The mind will fool you and convince you if only i had that then my life would be great but you suffer because you’re wanting something which doesn’t exist. Wanting by definition means that you don’t have it.
so if you let go of things to be ‘your way’ and accept each moment as it is then you flow with life and if you see you’re resisting/wanting you drop it that instance.
you can practice letting go but you can’t practice letting go so you can get something out of it that would mean you haven’t let go. You can’t let go of money in order to get money because you’re still doing it to get money so you’re still holding on to the object of your desire in this case it’s money. Your consciousness is still centered around money.
it’s like I’m trying to meditate but when I AM trying to meditate, meditation can not happen because I’m standing in the way. Meditation happens when there’s no meditator. It’s always happening only I come in the way
letting go happens when you stop wanting/resisting
Now you want to let go in order to get something from it then you haven’t let go. You’re still holding on to it. It’s just that you have heard that letting go will get you what you want so you use it to get what you want that’s what i mean by using it as a technique. You can’t fool the existence, universe.
the energy is totally released. You’re not expecting anything to happen. When or if it happens you’ll be genuinely surprised but if you haven’t released it you’ll be looking forward to it from the corner of your eye, it’ll be at the back of your mind. Also the belief that I’ll be fulfilled by having this desire fulfilled is running which brings me back to feeling lack.
does this make sense? It can be complicated but you can’t get out of your mind through mind it’ll be just more mind more thoughts. So you need to become aware and see what is actually happening moment to moment within you then see if you can drop it. See if you can drop each moment. Dying to the past.
Each moment things are coming into being into existence and disappearing. See them appear and disappear without clinging or resisting then you’re actually dropping it and not carrying any baggage. You’ll be light as a feather 🪶 you’re just moving with existence.
I recommend lester levensons sedona method for letting go. He healed himself just by letting go. He was supposed to die in 6 months instead he lived for another 50yrs and manifested all kinds of things
