Akshay Kumar:
Before he discovered his funny bone, dare devil stunts were Akshay Kumar's biggest calling card. Despite having strictly average plots, his Khiladi series of films helped raise the bar of action in Bollywood. If he took on Undertaker in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, International Khiladi saw Kumar stand on an airborne plane. Even in the recent Tashan, Kumar's 80s style of dishoom dishoom is the film's only saving grace. In an era of romance and comedy, Kumar had to change gears and flow with the tide. But this year he promises to get back to action in a big way with Singh Is Kinng and Chandni Chowk To China. For starters, he has already jumped from the world's tallest residential tower Q1 for a shot in Singh Is Kinng.

Sunny Deol:
His father was the Indian He-Man. And his son has certainly maintained the tradition. Action films have paid rich dividends for Sunny Deol whose popularity in the Northern belt could rival that of any Khan or Bachchan. Be it fighting a dozen wrestlers in Ghatak or unearthing a hand pump in Gadar, Deol's style is raw where fist fights and punches rule over high tech weapons. In fact, in a Sunny Deol film, his roar is enough to scare away the villain's men. Remember the Dhaai Kilo Ka Haath?

Long before WWE and Khali captured our minds, Bollywood had Dara Singh. The wrestler turned actor was part of a parallel industry of sorts in the 60s. Backed by unknown banners and low budgets, his films had their own fan following. His first big hit was the 1962 release King Kong. In A-grade films however Dara Singh was sidelined as the Bachchan and Dharmendra beat up the bad guys.

He was the angry young man, who never spoke much. Though Bachchan never did any breathtaking stunts in his films, one punch was enough to drive the message home. In films like Deewar, Sholay, Amar Akbar Anthony, Trishul and many more you had typical scenes were an unarmed Bachchan would take on a bunch of goons. Of course his fights would be punctuated with his paisa wasool lines like "Tum Log Mujhe Marne Ke Liye Wahan Dhoondh Rahe The… Aur Main Tumhara Yahan Intezaar Kar Raha Hoon". In recent years his last stint with action was in Raj Kumar Santoshi's Khakhee.

He can split a bullet with a blade so that it hits two people at the same time. Or sample this: He kicks a volleyball so hard that it hits a dozen villains and comes back to him. That's Rajinikanth for you - the man who defies all laws of physics. Such Rajini moments are the stuff box office blockbusters are made of. And the cyberspace is filled with thousands of videos and forums dedicated to Rajinikanth's unique style of action. Now all eyes are on his futuristic Robot where Shankar and he may not defy but actually rewrite Newton's theorems.
pls add ur choice of action hero in this list
