I fully agree with your reasoning why you find that HAHK provides better entertainment. I really liked the movie...it's a sort of "safe" entertainment getting too sugary for my taste at the third watch.

DDLJ, in the contrary, isn't a "sweet" movie (although I agree with some of your points). For me, it's a kind of movie that hasn't aged during the 18 years I know it now. I think, it's just the kind of narration (I don't look for the reality) and the performances - apart from music/songs and visuals - that suits me.

It's also interesting that even the kids in my family prefer a repeat watch of DDLJ rather than HAHK.

A Punjab village was anything but that. And gunfights between rivals in field or railway station was laughable.

Punjab was under disturbed areas act then. There was NO way civilians could be having own gunfights and police letting it happen. Factually it was unrealistic in militancy ridden rural Punjab.

Also, it seemed manipulative how Mandira's character likes SRK and gets false hopes.

woh sub chorain aap

the biggest issue here is WHY THE HECK on earth Srk did not pull the chain to stop the train which he could easily do, and why he made poor Kajol run all over towards him that too in such a fast speed?🤣

How boring would it have been had he followed your logic 😃

(and there would not have been this funny parody in ChennaiExpress)

I don't think that DDLJ was created to be a realistic movie, nevertheless still touching some issues that still exist.

Apart from the songs, there is nothing memorable about HAHK, who even remembers any of the dialogues? DDLJ had a far greater pop cultural impact, scenes/dialogues are still recreated today, go on IMDB, Amazon Prime, any streaming website, which one has more reviews/ratings, more watched? DDLJ.

HAHK is nothing more than an over glorified 5hr music playlist.

They liked the songs, yes, no-one remembers the movie, and isn't watched as muched as DDLJ.

Deal with that, sheena-cool, and stop coming back when you were banned for supporting terrorism.

I find it kind of charming when movies defy common logic (or "logical logic") 😊
