Ok I have to admit, I really like vaishnavi as a performer. Her energy, expressions and precision of steps are actually very very good. I have seen how many people don’t appreciate her as much, I also may not have if I hadn’t been trained in dance. Vaishnavi really does get the technique right.

On the previous seasons of jhalak, and other dance reality shows, she was merely a performer, and that too a severely underrated and under appreciated one. On previous jhalak seasons she was hidden under the shadows of the her and her celebrity partner’s mentors, while on other shows she was blatantly over looked because of whoever was her partner.

So, obviously I was really excited to see her as a choreographer on this season, that too with a known face like Faisu. On first glance their first performance on ‘mera wala dance’ seemed above average, definitely not the best. But later through Faisu’s vlog it was revealed that the performance was prepared in just 2 days, which actually made me really impressed.

Their retro act was actually my favourite performance of that week, no biasness involved. More than the performance I liked the choreography, it was challenging to Faisu yet executed even better considering him as a non dancer. But I was really disappointed when Kjo didn’t even acknowledge vaishnavi while stating that the choreography was the best one of the week. It deserved better scores tbh.

I’m sorry for such a huge post but my main point is something else. Nowhere on social media in the past 2-3 weeks did I see any appreciation for vaishnavi for choreographing and teaching Faisu so well.
Today’s performance was an unfortunate event for the both of them. Spoiler for those who haven’t watched it yet, both Faisal and Vaishnavi ended up forgetting their steps and Vaishnavi got hurt too.
I just saw a few posts about how it was all vaishnavi’s fault and that it was okay for Faisu to have forgotten his steps.
If I’m not wrong Faisu forgot his steps first, Vaishnavi saw him, got nervous and forgot her steps too, not to forget the added nervousness of that unstable prop. People are so quick to point fingers at someone’s mistake but won’t say a word of appreciation on their success. I won’t comment on the choreography of this act since it wasn’t executed how it was planned to be executed.

But it was really disheartening to see that poor girl cry. It was nice to see everyone consoling her, especially Faisu.
I hope she gets the respect and appreciation she deserves, not just on the show but by the audience as well.

Here's my review of their dance:

Faisal-Vaishnavi- Started off pretty nice & in sync. But when the vocals started, it felt bit out of sync with the hand movements. I have watched the performance and I feel Faisal forgot his steps which Vaishnavi noticed and made her forget her steps. The prop was bit shaking too but their sportsmanship was pretty good. The "na kissi mein dham..." was sync but Faisal did feel bit sad. Barring that nervousness of forgetting the steps, I thought remainder of the act was decent & I truly liked the aspect of sync in their choreography. As a dancer, I've been through the phases wherein I forget steps while performing on stage for many, many years so I can fathom the nervousness they had midway performance. Vaishnavi did miss the landing on the knee but she picked up pretty decently.

I also noticed how when Faisal first forgot his steps and Vaishnavi noticed it, she performed the rest of the steps looking at him as if she was trying to make him remember the steps. But in the process she got jumbled up too. I guess the nervousness got to the best of them.

Barring that + landing mishap that Vaishnavi faced later in the performance, I felt the performance was actually not bad. See, what's pretty appealing to me in the performance was

1. They still performed the remainder of the steps.

2. Their sync was visible.

I do feel 8 or 8.5 (if they allowed for decimal type of scoring 😆 -- gave up on the mysterious theory as to why the scoring is just off this season lol 😂 ) is justified score. I'm pretty sure they'll buck up and be back with a bang. 👍🏼
