And if u read 90s tabloids and magazines, u will get to know that karishma was a bigger tantrum queen than even Kareena, she had a bad temper, was very high handed and difficult and had consistent major ugly fights with all of her costars from pooja to manisha to raveena.

Its a myth that karishma was discouraged from kapoors to enter Bollywood

Its a myth that she struggled to get films

Its a myth that babita was a vamp in her life

Its a myth that karishma was calmer and well behaved in her youthful days (infect its the other way round)

Karisma is a far superior dancer and equally gorgeous, but Kareena is a superior actress and has this immense screen presence.

Kareena is talented and versatile. I know she gets identified as Poo a lot but there’s a lot more to her talent than KJo’s Poo 😕.

I know this is very subjective but Kareena is beautiful specially when she doesn’t do that ridiculous pout thing in pictures. During her thick eyebrows days Karishma looked like Raj Kapoor in drag. Even now the Kapoor genes are too strong in her.

Kareena also experimented a lot more. Maybe being in the 2000s vs the 90s helped Kareena whereas it hurt Karishma. Karishma’s emotional acting is very over exaggerated and very filmy. Kareena is a lot more nuanced and subtle. Now before anyone comes for me, I’m not calling Kareena the best, I’m comparing her to Karishma 😆

Karishma worked a lot harder and was definitely more ambitious at her prime whereas Kareena is just lazy. But Kareena is a good actress whereas Karishma never was.

Kareena definitely has the IT factor and screen presence. No doubt there whatsoever!!

Kapoor family ke members automatically become a hit. Look at Taimur, he is already a superstar without doing a single movie.😆

I thought she was great in kurbaan, dev, refugee, Asoka, ek main aur ek tu , some bits of loc kargil, jab we met…

Omkara and udta Punjab/yuva were good too…but those had other stronger performances …

I think both sisters are on par as actors. I do not think Bebo is superior to Lolo in acting. I cannot imagine Kareena in Fiza and Zubeida or even that childlike hypochondriac role in Dhanwaan.

However I do think Kareena has a more confident screen presence compared to Karishma. Karisma's screen presence became confident only post Raja Hindustani and I daresay she towered over Madhuri in the dance off scene in DTPH.

I also feel Karishma aged badly and began looking more mature sooner. Kareena has maintained herself better and has handled her movie choices, offscreen engagements and persona better, keeping up with times.

Some of Karishma's choices like Jaanwar, Haan Maine bhi pyar kiya hai and Baaz baffle me and made me wonder WTF was she thinking.

Karishma has more vulnerability onscreen and Kareena has a highly confident, self assured vibe about her.

It is harsh to say Karishma was NEVER a good actress. She was excellent in Zubeida and Fiza. And showed immense improvement from her crap films she did early in career. She was also solid in DTPH as a performer and it is not easy to hold your own against an actress like Madhuri.

Kareena got better opportunities due to 2000s being a more experimental era. Karishma never ever got films like Omkara or Dev because such films were not made in 90s at all.

I would give Karishma credit for matching dance steps with Govinda and his comic timing too.

I do agree she was really weak in early days with her voice and thick eyebrows and worst dressing sense.

Kareena in contrast, never had issues with her sense of make up, dressing sense and style and learnt well from mistakes of her sister.
