Both lolo n bebo are very strong minded independent ladies n decision makers, and karishma was never a kathputli in babita's hands...she is far away from being some abla, victim or a suppressed one

Karishma’s breakdown scene in Fiza when her mother dies is better than Kareena’s entire career.

Karishma in my opinion is better looking, a far better dancer and a far better actor than Kareena (in her peak)…. She actually struggled long and hard to get where she did and pretty much paved the way for Kareena who was handed everything on a platter.

What went wrong with Karishma is her inability to reinvent herself. She got really repetitive towards the end of her peak, signed lots of bad films and not to mention her personal life was a big mess, which I am sure was a factor as well.

Kareena isn’t better than her if we look at both of their best work: but Kareena is certainly smarter and more savvy. I think she knows how to evolve with times whereas Karishma has always been in the 90-2000’s mode. I can’t se Karishma pulling off any current content because she hasnt upgraded her software to do so. Kareena also has better industry connections and I am sure marrying another good actor has also helped her somehow. Kareena definitely has shaped her career much better

I feel bad for Karishma. She has every reason to be bitter with her mom, or bitter about her life or industry but she is sorted out. She has lashed against industry once but never against her family and it is heartening that she is so loving towards Bebo and she loves her right back and the sisters have no rivalry.

Kareena is also more outspoken and extrovert compared to Karishma who is reserved.

We could never know for sure what really goes on behind the scenes or how Karishma really feels but she does seem to be calm and not at all envious of her sister's success and generally has nice relationship with her family

Karishma and Kareena love each other like parent and child. Not just siblings.

I said Karishma has reason to be bitter about her life, industry and her mom. Yes her mom was behind her break up with AB Jr.

Imagine dumping a man like Abhishek over property issues and marrying a philanderer like Sanjay instead.

Babita was unfair to Lolo. But Lolo respects her a lot till date.

I think Karishma had really bad script sense. Who would sign crap like Jigar, Paapi Gudiya or even Shakti, Baaz, Dangerous Ishq?

Karishma also aged badly and never maintained herself or looks. Shilpa looks better than her IMO.

I do agree Karishma is better actor and has more affable screen presence than Bebo who often looks like a snob.

I may be wrong but I guess Bebo has better attitude with co stars than Lolo? Because Aamir vowed never to work with Karishma and did not like working with her in Raja Hindustani, SRK also never worked with her except DTPH. Whereas same Aamir, SRK, have worked many times with Bebo.

I have never really seen media or industry hype Lolo even at her peak in 1999 as much as I have seen hype for Bebo. Kareena has better PR and reinvents better for sure unlike Karishma who is stuck somewhere and does not know how to sell herself and is not a very eloquent speaker either.

For some reason, in the 20th century, lot of actresses were very obedient to their mothers...

Yes earlier actresses blindly obeyed moms or dads. Madhubala, Waheeda, Hema, Sridevi, Karishma, Madhuri all obedient to dads and moms. Rani and PC were also quite parents' darling daughters.

Kajol I think got lucky getting all those Dharma, YRF films on platter, successful jodi with SRK and being the only girl next door type in era of dhak dhak or sexy sexy glam girls and maybe family audience and kids were more comfortable with her, compared to the heroines dancing to ru cheez badi hai mast mast or tip tip barsa pani.

Kajol being the only simpleton and being misfit in all those wet sari or mini skirt or topless, backless choli numbers helped her get noticed in family audience circles. And 90s was more of a family film dominated era compared to masala films. Kajol mostly flopped whenever she tried skin show or item songs.

Babita is responsible for a lot of bad decisions in lives of Lolo and Bebo. Dont know what goes on in her head

Easily the most entitled actor of all time.

But I am curious why SRK never worked with Lolo as male lead in any film. She worked with him only in DTPH and SRK was biggest star of 90s. How did he not work with her?

Kareena is also smart to do progressive stuff like women based radio show, write a book on diet and pregnancy or remain active on SM. Kareena markets herself well and keeps up with trends and modern buzzwords. She knows how to be in news even if she has no films. Unlike Lolo who is bad at PR, keeping up with trends and has not diversified much.

The reason is KJo who is an obsessed person with capital O.

Srk and Alia are two other examples of his obsession. So Kajol was plain lucky, nothing else, not that great of an actress as well.

Srk was a villain mainly before ddlj, karishma chose more tried and tested stuff when she started her career.

Later post ddlj and kkhh, srk dedicated himself to Kajol only mainly leaving hardly anything to other actresses, thanks to kjo who so wanted to cast those two only as main leads.

Karishma seems to have a linear one dimensional dedicated mind.

All said,.she did very good for herself and was one of the number one heroines of 90s, unlike her biggest competitors raveena, Manish and pooja bhatt who never achieved the number one title despite all of their efforts, due to various reasons, so Karishma is at no loss in my opinion.
