Babita has not been the best mom to Lolo. Considering how she got her engagement to Abhishek broken and married Lolo to a divorced and much older man like Sanjay Kapur who was also father of kid from first marriage.

Babita has used Lolo like some puppet and Lolo suffered due to blindly obeying her mom and being controlled by her mom.

In 2000 when Bebo made debut, Babita saw only Ash as competition for her. And Lolo was also on top after success of Biwi no.1, HSSH, Dulhan hum le jayenge etc. Babita asked Karishma to slowly cut down on work and got her engaged to Abhishek. Karishma also said she needed to make way for Bebo.

Babita never thought much of Rani or Preity either. She had pushed Bebo a lot and hoped to put her ahead of Ash. Karishma was also replaced by Kareena in Airtel ads after Mujhe kuch kehna hai released and succeeded. Originally Karishma and SRK used to endorse Airtel.

To be honest Kareena was smarter to learn from Lolo's fate and work on own looks and style and also not get blindly remote controlled by her mom.

You are right about vulgar part. Sexy sexy log bolein or Meri pant bhi sexy, Sarkailo khatiya jaada lagey were all vulgar songs and must have ruined Lolo's image among family audience which is why YRF, Dharma and Rajshri avoided her until late 90s.

Lolo did do many crap films and vulgar songs and scenes. Jigar with Ajay may be a hit for eg but was a vulgar film.

By the time Lolo began moving away from Sunil or Govinda films it was already too late and others like Kajol had stolen a march over her. Even her long kissing scene in Raja Hindustani was considered vulgar for family audience despite film breaking records. RH is not as iconic nor shown as much on TV as HAHK, DDLJ, KKHH.

Lolo even did garbage films like Paapi Gudiya with Puru Rajkumar.

Kareena has also done love making scenes or item songs and double meaning songs but 2000s audience was perhaps more open to it compared to 90s ones I guess...

But Kareena has rarely done crap like Paapi Gudiya. I am shocked how she got work with JP Dutta, Subhash Ghai, K Jo etc so soon while Karishma, I guess, has never worked with either of these 3.

I feel bad for Karishma. She has every reason to be bitter with her mom, or bitter about her life or industry but she is sorted out. She has lashed against industry once but never against her family and it is heartening that she is so loving towards Bebo and she loves her right back and the sisters have no rivalry.

I think Karishma understood that Kareena was also pretty helpless about the whole situation

Yes Kareena got accepted for a film on wife swapping like Ajnabee or Halkat Jawani, Fevicol se songs and all love making or kissing scenes unlike Karishma who got labelled vulgar for same stuff.

By the time Karishma adopted more gharelu image doing Jeet, Raja Hindustani, HSSH, Biwi no.1, she was slowly asked to retire or labeled senior.

I am surprised Kajol got work in K3G, Fanaa or U me aur Hum or regional films and web series while Karishma hardly got good work later.

Baaz, Shakti are faltu films. Dangerous Ishq was also crap. Sadly even Karishma's TV serial named Karishma on Sahara channel flopped.
