Aaj Rashtra Hindi Diwas Hain

Today is National Hindi Day.So,greetings to every hindi speaking person here.Even though it is not my mother tongue I have lived all my life in a hindi speaking state of India and it is to me the sweetest,a most sophisticated language.

Bollywood has seldom been able to do justice to it,it hasn't even tried(at least post 90s)

But very few true gems in form of songs at least have come from bollywood.One of these,a song on life itself,of not only accepting it with all its highs and lows but also celebrating it by SD Burman -

My native language is Konkani. I can speak three dialects of Konkani - Goan, Saraswat, and Malwani. In addition, I can speak Hindi, Marathi, and English fluently. I understand Gujarati but have to respond in other languages.

I am learning Spanish. Recently an NYC MTA bus driver and I helped Spanish-speaking tourists get directions to the 09/11 memorial (I am not a New Yorker or a fluent Spanish speaker).

And I still feel shamefully inadequate in terms of how many languages I can speak. The only barrier to communication is our desire to communicate. Celebrate and learn as many languages as you can.
