Not the Conservatives I think. They may be racist and ignorant morons, but they're not into that whole going overboard with politically correct nonsense where gangs of pedophile Pakistani men are let off for fear of accusations of racism.

Diana specifically was very pro-Pak. Charles not so much.

i dont think she was pro-pak aur or anti india for that matter. She dated a pakistani guy thats it. And pak is seen as poorer country with not so great human rights record and since she was seen as a humanitarian she went there. She never said or did any thing against india.

Truly the end of an era. May her soul rest in peace.

There have definitely been moments where I have been envious of the British over their constitutional monarchy. The democratically elected leaders around the world made me realise the security a politically neutral figurehead can provide.

She was not the colonial evil power some think of her as. India gained independence before her regin and so did many other colonies. The royal family (Charles and William, in particular) are fine with independence movements. They have made it clear they will not continue anywhere they are not needed. All in all they seem pretty sorted people who are great Diplomats to their country.

Yup, power/electricity/gas rates have gone through the roof and its about to get worse once winter is here. We've already seen more than 50% hike in the rates and they've announced that it will increase by 100% in the coming months.

People with family/children dependent on single earning members will be hit the most.

they did cap energy bills to 2500 pounds yesterday..this issue is more external than internal due to Ukraine Russia war crisis etc
