I'll talk about Malayalam since that's where my roots are.

For every Fahad Faasil and Dulquer Salman, there is a Nivin Pauly and a Tovino Thomas. Soubin, Suraaj, Nimisha, Kani Kusruthy, Parvathy, Sai Pallavi, Meera Jasmine... the list is long.

Asin, Nayantara came from Malayalam cinema. They were not nepos.

In Tamil, Rajnikanth is still the biggest. He was not a nepo though his children and in-laws are.

Vijay Sethupathi, Ajith... I believe are not nepos.

Even in Telugu, Vijay Devarakonda is not nepo.

Yes, nepotism is there in South India also. Difference is there is no KJo sitting there and doing promo for nepos and grabbing roles for his preferred people. Nor is anyone proclaiming NTR Jr as the greatest actor in all of India.

Doesn't matter.....If nepotism is wrong...its wrong...no excuses.....like I said.....even for the most brilliant nepo actor.....there must be a better outsider who lost his chance because it wasn't an open audition....

Let us not mix up nepotism with bullying, harassment, stealing roles.....these are wrong anywhere and everywhere....if you are against nepotism be against it ...it doesn't matter what the spin offs are....I don't buy when people support blatant nepotism with excuses........KJo is a douchebag...he doesn't represent BW.

I have always said nepotism is inevitable. It's human nature to favor your own.

Is it ideal? No. But it's not going away.

But KJO's nepotism has morphed into exactly what you said. People may not have the vocabulary to articulate what they find wrong, but he and Alia are really the main problem in the whole nepo debate.

Nothing wrong if they are using their own money....that is the only thing I am not against....other than that its wrong...if one doesn't support it in BW...don't support it elsewhere.

That's what I'm trying to say. Most people posting against nepotism are really mostly angry with KJos tactics which they see as unfair. People just call it nepotism, that's all.

Actually, almost all Bollywood took up once he started promoting his adopted beti. But he really led the parade. I guess the rest saw the *wisdom* in it because they also had their sons and daughters to promote.

Driving protestors out is one thing. Beating them up is another. The life and limb of the one who got beat up is also valuable.

It's not about sympathy. It's about what should happen in a functional democracy.

The protestors might be all that you said.

But the police still don't have the right to beat them up for interfering with someone's prayer. Moving them out is as much as any cop should be allowed to do. The police work for the people, not for celebs.
