Is Ranbir Bad Luck?

Shamshera: big flop Karan previously directed Agneepath

Jaga Jasoos: Anurag Basu, same story as above, gave some good movies before

Ae Dil Hai Muskhil: Karan’s most unsuccessful directorial

Tamasha: Literally all of Imitaz’s previous films were hits, literally all his films before Tamasha were amazing

Bombay Velvet: Anurag gave this dud fresh off the success of Gangs of Wasseypur

Besharam: Abhinav Kashyab, director of Dabang

Saawariya, one of the few SLB disasters

Looks like it’s Ayan’s turn now 🤣

Basu already had a dud with Kites, and a Superhit with Ranbir (Barfi)

ADHDM I can give it to you, but it was still a HIT and had a good opening

Anurag had Ugly in between Gangs and Velvet. Definitely wasn't fresh off the success of Gangs

SLB - if he has had few disasters, how does Ranbir get held responsible for SLB's down turn? Especially since Saawariya actually took a big opening coming up against OSO

Alia had Karan get her whatever she wanted. She did not need Ranbir for luck. She just wanted Ranbir. More than likely Karan got her Ranbir as well. 😉

I don't think its luck or anything as such.

Most of the times he chooses script which doesn't suit him in the name of doing something different.

He is misfit for characters which are larger than life; like Shamshera.

He gives more of urban, can do both naive or witty personality, kind of vibes.

Now his whole future career is dependent upon BRAHMAASTRA...

If it is even above average or surplus then he will get lease of life for next 3.4 years.

If it tanks like Shamshera... then its better he sits at home as house husband and let Alia continue her acting.
