okay...so age of guy...should he be a young cop...fresh to the business--cocky and thinks he can solve everything and get all the bad ones behind bars? or the seen it all bitter cynic?

I don't mind. And while the ML is cocky and brawny, let him actually also be smart not just cocky for the heck of it.
