After landing in controversy for his casual behaviour before the press at a recent promotional event of his upcoming film 'Liger,' Vijay Devarakonda is making waves not for his spectacular acting, but for his comment he had a made during an interview amid sensitive situation as Bollywood faces boycott calls.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, actor Vijay Devarakonda's Liger co-star and star kid Ananya Pandey can be heard saying, "Everyday someone is being boycotted."

To this, south star Vijay Devarakonda responded saying, "Karnedo kya karenge ab, kya farak padta hai, hum toh picture banayemge, jo dekhna chahta hain dekhenge, jo nahi dekhna chahte woh TV me hai, ya phone me dekhenge."

Now, the 33-year-old actor's statement has been massively criticised by netizens using social media. Taking to Twitter, a user in response to his recent remarks wrote, "I support #BoycottLigerMovie yes let me reiterate that I support Boycott of #Liger movie because of the direct and indirect connection of people from the Bollywood like Karan Johar, Salman Khan and Ananya Pandey. Also, because I support #BoycottBollywood (forever and everywhere)."

Moreover, the Arjun Reddy star has hit back at trolls targeting him for putting his feet up on table while speaking to paparazzi's at the Liger press meet.

“Anybody trying to grow in their field. Will Always have a Target on their back - But we fightback :) And when you are honest, yourself and want the best for everyone - The love of people and God will protect you," Vijay Deverakonda wrote on Twitter.

With 'Liger' due in theatres for August 25, Vijay will mark his debut in Bollywood in the Karan Johar production.

I’m actually so confused why you continue to give these hashtags that barely trend for more than one hour (esp Vikram Vedha) so much attention.
