I toh honestly hate even Rohit Shetty trying to copy old iconic hits in his films. He often copies Hrishikesh Mukherjee hits like Golmaal, Chupke Chupke and later claims he was paying them homage.

I also dislike Farah and Sajid Khan for copying 80s films in their films. I did not like Farah trying to do a Naseeb and Karz in OSO.

When old films are on TV daily to see why copy same old scenes and make it caricature?

I am fed up of lazy copying of even recent decades' films in India and lazily trying to recreate iconic scenes of DDLJ, QSQT, HAHK, Sholay or Gadar or even recreating scenes of recent films like Dabanngg and Singham.

Like stop taking audience as some fool.

In ads also there recreate their old scenes. How lazy!

I think it’s a combination of things and the pandemic is one of the major factors. Now days, many take to the comfort of their homes to watch movies, unless it something extraordinary and it will take time before people once again get into normal routines. Also, not only the industry but people were hit economically by the pandemic and high rising costs.

Example, some movies were released on Amazon prime or some other app where you paid to see the movie at the comfort of your home or on your tablet/phone.

Its nothing to do with pandemic, etc

Make entertaing movies people will watch.

Make watchable movie,

Boring old people ko nai dekhna hai, and also copied or crap storyline and actors.

Boring ho chuka hai sab.

South indian movie work, because they are entertaining.

The filmmakers exactly know what audience wants.

BW is disconnected with audience. They are not relateable or down to earth. They live in a la la land

First thing is budget. Sorry but a lot of the movies can be shot now in India and even these movies have a crazy budget! This is due to the huge fees also charged by actors. If these actors are looking to fill their pockets well then not much of an industry will be left for further earning.

Second thing is preference of audience. For me I prefer watching shows, where there is character building and I get invested, reality and fiction. I rarely find myself now wanting to watch a movie, someone dies and I saw them on screen for two hours, I doubt I would care much vs a show where you have world building.

Cinema is expensive, tickets are pricy and so are snacks, fuel is high, traffic is crazy, people don’t have the socialization energy they had before.

Lastly everything comes to OTT within weeks or months. For a non action movie why would I even wait? Also Bollywood action movies or let’s say sci fi or super hero, the special effects are so so poor.

And the script. No original scripts left and no new actors; everything is highly woke not in an intelligent but preachy manner. I get the reasoning, but people want stories not moral science lessons.

Nepotism ruined BW. It has always been there but ab toh pura BW hy Famous actors/Actresses ky bachon sy bhar gya hai. Agar koi outsider ho bhi, they aren’t promoted or given same sort of big movies like Nepo kids. Also this Nepotism worsened ever Since Alia debuted in BW. After her everyone started following the lead 🤢

true it’s tough to get a break without connections and the casting couch but you can’t blame them on wanting to be stars and not all star kids are bad. Plus it’s up to the audiences on who they want to see or not , and if others want to waste their time n give them chances we’ll it’s their money as an audience it’s our choice to see them or not.

Plus, those stars who were outsiders naturally their kids will be star kids, but it’s in every profession and it’s human nature to want your kids to carry on your legacy.
